What would they do if one of the kids were Homosexual? Would they still have the same sex nurse? I'm just assuming that's the reason I don't know.

No matter if you're trans, gay, whatever. You still can't have a nurse of the opposite sex strip search you, watch you shower, etc. etc. Those are the rules.

Oh hell no. No connections to the outside world except for a timed phone call to your parents every evening.
Yeah. We also did this thing where we hugged ourselves at the same time to simulate hugging each other. -
