3x-12-1=8.3. -distributive property
3x-11=8.3.
3x-11+11=8.3+11. -additive property of equality?
3x=19.3
x=19.3/3 -
emarsh1999 NewbieYou have to think out how the problem will work, then lime the lesser being 4 is just plugging in 4 where x or y would go. 4 is y too because it is a part of the original difference in number 1
