I never played the demo, but I've been in some hardcore turf wars from the start. A friend with a maxed out level who got the game before me joined all my battles when I first played.

I guess they're either having a small break from splatfests or they just don't plan on announcing them as much as they did before the last January update. I wonder why. They said the updates would end after January (which may actually be a lie), but there would still be splatfests. North America is overdue for a splatfest. Dafuq Nintendo. ;_;
