My brother can't hear music anymore. A few years ago, he went deaf, and about a year ago he got a Cochlear ear thingy, so he can hear certain things, but no he can't understand music. He's twenty seven, so before this he's heard his fair share of music. Well, where I'm getting with this is, he's never heard dubstep before, and now he never will. He doesn't understand why I like dubstep, or even what it is. I want to describe it to him, but I don't know how. I've tried to explain it the best I can, but he keeps asking me if it's another genre of music, but I'm like, "No, dubstep is it's own genre, you can't call it something it isn't." Is there some way to get him to understand? I just want him to know what it is and why I like it.

Well, you could say that Dubstep is similar to electronic genres of music. If you have a speaker or something in your house and your parents will let you play it slightly loud for a moment, have him feel the vibrations of the music. I dunno, those were the thoughts that just popped into my mind. x3

Just say to him it is a type of electric party music that usually has very little or no singing in it. It has certain types of beats, sounds, that go up and down and all around.
