And who else was glad they put Legolas in it?
-
I haven't seen it, but I'm glad Legolas is in it! :)
-
It's called the Desolation of Smaug. *Protectively stands in front of Legolas* No, bad ladies. He's mine. :T
Anyways. Moving on...
I thought Peter Jackson did a good job with this one. However, he stuffed way too much into it. Between all of the conflicting mini issues going on, there was hardly any time to focus on the real point of the movie: destroy Smaug. Despite the fact that I love Legolas and was ecstatic when I heard he would be in this movie, I don't think the appearance of the Elves was necessary. Peter Jackson was looking for a way to make a connection between the Lord of the Rings films and The Hobbit films. He used the Elves for this connection. Don't get me wrong-- I love the Elves. However, they were a completely unneeded add-on that ended up taking up much-needed attention from the Dwarves. After all, this quest is for them. In fact, if the Elves weren't in this movie, they probably would have been able to finish the movies and end with this film. Besides, poor Orlando's age is beginning to show. Sorry, but it's true.
However, they did do a lovely job of showing the erosion of the Ring in Bilbo's mind. The spiders also. It followed the book very well.
That said, I totally ship Kili and Tauriel. She needs to stay away from Leggy. >:T -
Agreed^ Especially that last sentence. HOLY FLYING SPACE COW THEY ARE MY OTP. I WANT TO BE HER, NOT JUST BECAUSE I'M IN LOVE WITH KILI, BUT SHE'S AMAZING!
-
Yeah, agree with Lone. The part with the spiders was really good.
And yes, Kili is awesome and cute, but I still love Legolas. ^-^ -
I need to skip the year and see the 3rd one. That pretty much explains my view on it.
