It's a short story, about 15 or so pages, but I've given them chapters. Here is chapter one:
Love In Three Days
Chapter One
It was a quiet Winter day, Adamma had been looking in the mirror and sighed sadly, the pimples on her forehead had not gone, and she asked her mother for contacts but she simply said no each time, so she had to wear glasses which made her seem worse, and her teeth weren't as white as they should be, soon she would need braces and that made everything a whole lot worse.
"I wish I looked better," she sighed as she walked barefoot on the tiles towards the window overlooking the garden, the leaves soared gently to the ground, just like her heart was, slowly and slowly sinking deep in to her chest, filled with misery.
She had still not gotten over the fact that Pin Pon was gone, and never coming back, the cat that she had played with every day and stroked it's soft grey fur, and cuddled up with on lonely days where she just wanted to break down and cry, was gone, and wouldn't be coming back. Ever.
She had cried all day and all night, soaking her pillow and wasting the tissues, but nothing could be done, the cat was gone, it was only an animal, but it was one of her best friends and she felt like something deep inside her had gone with it when it died, a piece of her heart that would never mend.
Now she looked out over the garden, as the remaining dead leaves piled up in the frosty snow and the trees became bare, the sky was grey and gloomy but nothing could get worse, everything was always sad, everything was bad for her, she was never happy, never excited or joyful, just looked up in her room, away from the world, and her tears fell unseen.
She sat on her bed, looking down at her knees, tears trickling down her cheeks, she didn't know what to do, so she pulled out her notebook and her ballpoint black pen, and wrote poetry.
Gone
You were there,
Every step of the way,
You cared,
For me every day,
Now you're gone,
And I'm still crying,
Everything's wrong,
And I'm still dying.

3 days later.
It was the 11th of February, and today she would meet her new relatives, Adamma's brother, Ugo, had gotten married a while ago, and his wife's nephew was coming to see Adamma, he would spend some time with her and they'd play together while the adults talked and had coffee and did their business.
He was about 2 years older than her, 16, while she being 14 wasn't very off, so she hoped they'd get along well.
I've never been related to someone so close to my age, she thought, most of my cousins are younger than me by far.
She wondered what they'd do together, should she show him her books? What she liked to read? Or show him her art work and see what he thinks? Should she get out some board games for them to play? She didn't know what he was like.
Then, Zai, her sister in law, came in and sat with her, she smiled sweetly and said, "He's going to bring his friend, Pritam over, so it'll be you three, do you mind that?"
"Oh," she said, "Not at all, I just don't know what they're like so I'm afraid we might not get along,"
"I'm sure you will," said Zai, "They're both very friendly,"
And she got up and left.
When Ebony and Pritam came, they were an odd two.
Ebony had jet black hair and brown eyes like chocolate, deep and dark. He didn't seem exactly friendly, but not horrible and mean either, just… empty. But Pritam was a different sight, he had black hair that was all ruffled up, and pimples on each cheek, but a warm and friendly smile with icy blue eyes like the cold wind in winter.
"Hello," she smiled.
"Hi," they both said in unison.
"I'm Adamma, and you are…"
"Ebony,"
"Pritam,"
"Nice to meet you both," and she shook their hands, they shook hers.
Suddenly, Zai came in with a bag and she put it on Adamma's bedroom table and said, "That's for you three,"
They peered inside; there were chocolates and cans of soft drinks and a bag of crisps.
Throughout the whole day, they played board games and she showed them her work like she thought she should and they admired it and said she was great at all of that. Though neither liked to read much so they didn't share many similarities in the books they read.
After that, they got bored. So the three went for a winter walk under the colliding trees of the park.
There were walkways ankle deep in snow, and trees on either side as they walked along, the bare branches touching each other like shade for them, even though it was a cloudy day.
Adamma didn't really know what to say most of the time, but she walked on in silence and occasionally asked them questions like, "What do you like to do?" and, "So what are your family like?" and they'd talk on, that day they found that Pritam was soft hearted because he had seen an injured squirrel in a tree that was bleeding, they didn't know what happened, Ebony was going to just leave it but Pritam stayed there a long time before he let Adamma stride him away.
Though Ebony didn't like to say much and just went along with the others, he was a bit aggressive and lashed out at them if they talked about something that annoyed him and they began to edge farther away from him and enjoy the winter day, though it was freezing and they shivered under their thick coats, it was just great to be out.
Adamma seemed to like Pritam; he laughed a lot and made jokes. Although he had a bad past, his parents were dead and he lived with his horrible aunt and cousins, they didn't treat him badly, they just didn't care.
But Pritam seemed a bit self centered, sure he was soft hearted, but he thought about himself quite a bit, and he babbled on about what he liked to do, as he talked, Adamma told herself in her head that she was here to get to know him and Ebony, she already knew herself. Although Ebony marched forward in a huff, Pritam said that Ebony didn't like the cold and he couldn't blame him, Adamma agreed.
As the day ended, she was saddened to say goodbye to the two, but she didn't let on, she waved goodbye to them cheerfully and smiled as they went away. But as soon as they vanished and she was alone, sitting on her bed, the misery returned and she was sad all over again.
Except… There was something new in her heart, something she hadn't felt before.
She didn't know what it was until that night.

Chapter Two
Pritam had been sent out to buy some coffee beans for his aunt; she got cranky and horrible when she didn't have a mug of it. And told Pritam to go out and get it.
The problem was, it was a stormy winter night, the clouds had gathered up and it was really dark from the view of the other end of town, he was afraid to go out but didn't want to get his aunt in an even worse mood, so he pulled on his rain coat and buttoned it up, grabbed the money she had given him and went out in to the freezing cold weather, the rain had reached a few inches below his knees and his shoes and socks were soaking wet, all the shops would be closed, he guessed, because they knew that there weren't going to be any customers, although some might stay open.
He walked on slowly and steadily, careful not to slip and fall, large puddles were in the streets and the rain fell hard like a billion grains of rice falling at once, it was freezing cold and wind swooped by so fiercely, his fingers were numb and he was shivering all over, he wanted to get this done with once and for all.
Although the rain blocked his view of everything, he still managed to look around a bit, but he was chilled to the bone and soaking wet.
He reached the shop's door and peered through the window, here sold simple things that people needed but wasn't very huge.
No one was there.
"Hello?" he called, and banged on the door, maybe the shop keeper would hear him and come and unlock the door, if they were still there, that is.
"Hello?" he called again.
Still nothing.
He walked on, miserable and sad, cold and shivering, looking for an open shop.
He found one next to the park, it was closed.
He walked down an open alley and turned right, there was a small shop here. It was closed. He got more frustrated and walked down to the cemetery and took two turns left until he reached the last shop he could think of.
It wasn't closed.
He dashed in, heart leaping with joy to be able to go back home now, he was already thinking of a warm douvet and the hot fire and dry room. The old man there looked up at him and said, "Yes?"
"Um, a jar of coffee beans is all I need,"
"I'm sorry, we've run out,"
His face fell and his heart crumpled up. He came back out of the shop, unsure of what to do.
Where will I go now? He thought to himself, I don’t know what to do or any more shops.
He was also fearful because his aunt would get very cross with him, and she often beat him when he didn't do as she asked him, with his two annoying cousins laughing and jeering in the back ground, perhaps he'd have to endure some pain.
*
Adamma was playing with her curly black hair and looking out at the flooded street, her heart felt like it was knotted, but not in a horrible, painful way. It was in a way like it was stolen, a thief of her heart has taken it away…
She didn't want to admit it, but Pritam never left her mind, she didn't know him that well, but she just felt warm around him, like she'd received a hug, and it was hard not to smile, he was like the rays of sunlight shining on her, making her happy, filling her with hope. Is this love? Was she falling in love with him? She couldn't stop thinking about him, he was always close by in her thoughts, but she had only known him for one day!
She felt warm and happy inside, she wanted to dance around the room. She felt like she was jumping on a cloud and skipping through green meadows, this was ecstasy.
Suddenly, she thought she'd seen him, she had been thinking about him so much, imagining the two doing so many things together, talking to him in her mind, that she thought she was seeing things and his image was there in front of her.
For a moment, she thought she had seen him walk by in a rain coat, shivering in the chilly cold, but as she snapped out of her days, and set herself straight, peered at the window a bit longer, she saw that it was!
She rushed out, not caring about the rain drenching her or the cold wind or slipping on the ice, she just cared about him.
"Pritam!" she called.
He turned around and spotted her there, even through the falling drops of rain, he could see her clearly, running towards him.
"What…?"
When she reached him, she was panting hard and staring at him wide eyed.
"What are you doing here?" she shouted against the thunder of the rain.
"Shopping for coffee," he shouted back with a sigh, "Having no luck,"
"Why now?"
"Cause my aunt will kill me if I don't bring her back some,"
"Do you want to come inside?" she asked.
"I guess I have no choice," he gave her a shaky grin. And followed her inside. -

Chapter Three
He followed her inside to her house, she told him to wait in the hallway after she closed the door. He stood there shivering like mad and dripping wet.
Her mother and father were in the hospital visting her grandma who broke her ankle a week ago, but she couldn't see her because she had to watch her grandpa who slept in a wheel chair all day, she asked them why the two couldn't come along, and her dad said it was because grandpa didn't want to go because he had already been 3 times, so she had to stay at home with him.
Adamma felt her heart leap as she rushed upstairs towards the cupboard to get some blankets, she pulled out a red ginham checked one, and a solid soft yellow colored one, she got out a white towel too, rushed down stairs to where Pritam was waiting, with water dripping from him.
"Here," she said and slowly took off his rain coat, then put the towel round him, and then the two blankets.
"Thanks," he said with a shiver, "But won't your parents mind?"
"They're not here," she said, "I'm alone with my grandpa,"
"Where is he?"
"In his room, asleep, but he doesn't care, it's Ok, Pritam, it's fine. Even if my parents knew, they wouldn't mind at all," although she didn't sound so sure.
Her heart felt that knot again, like someone had stolen it, like she loved someone and cared about them most, she couldn't help but smile sweetly to herself.
She let Pritam sit on the sofa while she made a fire in the stone fire place, the sofa was a sea blue with rounded legs and pink coushins with gold designes on them, the carpet was a Persian rug with multiple patterns, and there were paintings here and there of landscaps or pictures of the sea.
The fire now burnt brightly and cast a warm glow on the room, it's golden light spreading to almost the far corners. It was beautiful.
Adamma then got up from where she was leaning by the fire and looked at Pritam, "What would you like? Hot chocolate or soup?"
"Whatever's easier,"
"No," she insisted, "What would you like?"
He smiled broadly and said, "Oh, maybe some soup then," and after a pause, "Any soup will do, thank you,"
"Alright," she said, "Be back in a bit,"
She decided to cook Tomato soup because she was best at it, she called to Pritam from the kitchen, "Do you like Tomato soup?" just to make sure it was okay with him.
"Yeah, sure, it's not my favorite but I like it,"
So she took some oil and heated it on medium high, then sauted the onions and garlic until they were tender, she added carrot and celery and heated it for about 10 minutes, then she stirred in the tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, thyme, pepper and hot pepper sauce.
It smelled so delicious that she decided to have a spoonful of it for herself, but she didn't tell Pritam that, and she took it in to him on a bowl with a spoon. And put it in his lap.
"Thank you," he smiled, looking up from the soup, "I don't know what to say,"
"You just said thank you, silly!" she giggled, she wasn't normally this sweet, but for his cause, she was going to be that extra bit nicer to impress him, she knew deep down in her heart that she had affectionate strong feelings for him, she just wasn't going to admit it.
She sat next to him on the sofa and watched his face turned down at his soup as he took spoonful after spoonful, with the golden light of the fire shining on his face, sure he had pimpels like her, and wasn't the cutest around. But it was the inside that matters and she felt love for him and longing to hug him close and never let him go.
"This is really tasty," he said about halfway through his soup, "I really like it. Did you make it yourself?"
"Yeah," she said, "It's one of my specialities,"
"Cool," he said with a smile, "I liked Tomato soup but not my favorite or anything, now I think it is!"
She laughed but said nothing.
*
When Pritam finished, Adamma excused herself to go up to her room, she did two things.
First of all, she cleaned herself up, she had been sweeping the hallway before she day dreamed of Pritam and saw him outside, and was dusty all over, plus, she got tomato soup on her shirt, which luckily, Pritam didn't see.
She rummaged through her drawers for something nice that she didn't normally wear, and found at the bottom a white woolly night dress with lace around the neck and at the edge, the sleeves ended right at the elbows and she looked like a ghost soaring through the night sky, or a lost girl in a forest searching for home in a fairy tale. She slipped it on, washed her face and combed her hair a bit more.
Then, she pulled out her notebook, and wrote a poem for Pritam that she would never forget, the knot in her heart was still there, that feeling of love that someone has stolen your heart and you're longing to be with them.
Then, she pulled herself together and went downstairs to where he was waiting, he was no longer on the sofa but sitting on the carpet watching the flames cackle.
She slowly walked towards him, he looked up at her through his icy blue eyes.
"Wow," he breathed with a smile, "You look great,"
"Thanks," she said with a smile and pulled some hair away from her face, she sat down on the carpet next to him. She felt so elegant in her gown, she didn't care if it was girly, it fit the mood.
Being this close to Pritam, she had a longing to hug him even more, the urge to tackle him and hold him in her arms overwhelmed her, which made her smile even more and her cheeks hurt.
They stared at the flames a long time, she occasionally looked at him, saw that his cheeks were a rosy pink and as though his pimpels never existed, they said nothing for a while, until she decided to talk.
"Um," she began, and he looked up almost immediatley, like she'd snapped him out of a daze, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure," he said simply.
"Uh... Do you think I'm pretty?"
"Of course!" he exclaimed, rising up slightly, "Why wouldn't you be pretty?"
"Well... I'm not really pretty, I've got pimpels, and I'll have braces soon, and I've got glasses, I look nerdy and-"
"Nonsense," he said, astonished, "Besides, I'm not too pretty either, I don't have great hair and I've got pimpels too,"
As soon as he said that, she felt better, he put his hand on hers and held it softly, for a while he didn't speak, then whispered, "It's the inside that counts, and your inside is more beautiful than heaven above,"
Her cheeks flushed and she had to smile, evenn grin with pleasure, that was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to her.
"And you're an angel," she said to him, her lips tight.
He widened his eyes, only slightly and said, "Really? You think so?"
"Yes," she said, "Your face shines brighter than the stars in the sky," she was in a poetic mood.
"Wow," he said shyly, "Creative,"
