The beast's eyes went wide, and it charged.

She brought up the knife and screamed....

The knife was held up high enough to cut the beast's eye out.

The beast howled, going crazed, the blood from her and the beast had sent it into a frenzy..

The beast howled and stopped, trying to fix its eye. Amanda took her chance.

She made a run for it.

She sprinted as fast as she could; china vases and other items crashing to the floor as she shoved past.

Luck was not with her, for she came to a dead end and saw a huge shadow looming behind her.

She looked around desperatly for a way out, and screamed as sharp claws tore across her bare arm.

She collapsed to the floor, feeling hopeless, preparing to die, but suddenly...

A boy ran into the middle of them, saving her.

The wound on her arm was so deep that Amanda's vision blurred and she didn't get a chance to see her saviour.

She fainted, only to wake up, in her room, on her bed, as if nothing had happened.

She sat up, and placed her hand on her left arm to find it bandaged.
