I'll start the story: I can't belive this is happening. I've felt betrayed one too many times but it always still hurts. Mia was my everything, she was there for me when my mom died, when my dad left me and she was the best girlfriend I've ever had. I felt really bad after our argument but I didn't think she would leave me. She did exactly what my dad did to me; she gave up on me. Her words repeat in my head " Violet, you've gotten in trouble too many times with the police! I told you to be carefull!" I hated seeing her so angry at me. She was the love of my life, now I have no one.

It hurt to even think about Mia, think about the one who betrayed me, betrayed my trust, even when I loved her like nothing else. The quiet rain outside my window pattered onto the foggy sidewalks outside but it didn't help with anything. I sighed as the tears ran down my face, then the telephone beside me started ringing.

I quickly rushed to the phone and picked it up, please be Mia, please be Mia. "Hello?" I speak into the phone. The voice I hear from the other side of the phone is not Mia, but my best friend Violet. "Where are you?" she asks " your supposed to be on the boat to Lanoo island with me, Mia was supposed to come too.
"There's one" problem I say "Mia's gone" I sigh, I can't believe I forgot we're leaving today.

Violet paused for a second, seemingly confused. "What- What do you mean 'gone?' Is she okay? Lukas, what happened to Mia?" Violet asked, worriedly. Her voice was slightly muffled with the noises of a distant foghorn and the sound of waves. Another tear ran down my eyes as I finally achieved the courage to say, "I mean gone by- Mia- she left me." -
"What? Why? What happened?!" She asks.
"I, I sort of got into trouble with the police again..." I say. Violet sighs, I know everyones probably starting to get a bit sick of it by now.
"I guess I should start getting my way to the ferry" I say. I start going to my car then I stop. "Wait, Mia's taken the car. Could you pick me up?" I mange to say. I slump down onto a stair and all the tears start to fall out.
(I just realised that I somehow made both my main characters name and the friends name Violet, so thanks for changing that LOL) -
(yep LOL it was confusing)
"Why's it always the police, Lukas? I'm not mad, nor do I want to hurt your feelings, but I'm just asking." I huffed, not responding to Violet's question, which made her even more worried. -
I just sat there, waiting for Violet to come. We've been planning our trip to the island for months but now I don't even want to go.

"Hello?" Violet repeated over and over. "Fine, if you're not there, I'm coming to pick you up in eight minutes. Please don't be asleep by then."

She hung up. I sighed, setting the phone back down. I got ready to leave, putting my hair up and hastily packing a suitcase.

I grabbed my bags, I don't know how I'm going survive a month on that island knowing Mia was supposed to be there with me

I sighed, putting the suitcase back on my desk, then putting my head down. As I lowered my head, I noticed a picture of me and Mia in front of the memorial near my home. I grabbed the picture and stuffed it into my heavy backpack.

The photo is hard to look at. I remember taking the picture, it was our first time at Lanoo island.

About five minutes later, I heard a knock at the back door, along with the doorbell ringing. Why use the back door? the voice in my mind said. I stood up with my suitcase and backpack in my hand, and opened the door. Violet, and my distant friend August, were behind the door, waiting for me to answer. "Hi," They both said at the same time, and I greeted them too. "Follow me to the car." Violet said hurriedly. "Boat's leaving in another twelve minutes, so we have to be fast."
