CHAPTER 3: TROUBLED SOUL
Ron woke up in this town unknown, shock by his survival, his wakening again. ‘‘Twas a hard sleep in the night, it was dark and cold, and if I were to estimate, he got like, say, 1 hour of sleep? Maybe less. The sun arose. Dawn.
Ron started to remember what yesterday was like, blood and horror, but he also remembered a small moment of peace. In the valley. In the sun.
But that was gone now.
Ron had a dreamless night, half asleep half awake. He stood up and looked around.
He saw the man, with his dead open eyes begging Ron, daring him to come closer. To scream and cry. Ron wanted to ignore the urge to scream, and he barely did. But, out of terror, he ran away. But he was stopped about 30 second later by the cramps of the night before. He was in pain. He was weak. But, in the distance, he heard a small noise. He walked towards the source, but before he did, he looked in the homes, or rather, what was left in the homes for supplies to survive. -
As he searched the rooms, scared of what he would find, for food. He was starving. Ron saw a shelf and found books on it. Books. Ron wondered what was in these books, out of curiosity of course. But he did not want to waste his time. The urge to eat was stronger then his urge to explore. In a pantry, it seemed to be anyway, he saw some bread. It looked stale, but Ron was hungry. He chowed it down like an animal, eating it’s prey. Teeth digging in, and, even though it hurt his gums, he loved it. He enjoyed it.
He wondered why there were no bodies. There was just blood. Where were the people? But at this point, Ron did not want to know.
As he searched, feeling stronger with just the loaf of bread, he found very little. He found 5 apples, 2 oranges, a long copper wire, dull remains of knifes, water in a barrel, which he was only going to take some of it, and a map. A image of the known land. Ron looked at it, and it appeared there was another settlement near this one. And a canyon? There was writing saying on the animal skin paper to never go there, so Ron told himself that he never would. But strangely, there were big x’s on different areas…
Ron felt an urge, like the last one, to never go there. Like he remembered something but he also did not. There was just a few words on the paper also, but the ones on the top stood out to him.
‘FEAR THE MUSIC BOX; DON’T COMMUNICATE.’
What?
What is that? Who is that? What could it mean?
Ron put the map into a pocket on a bag he found, and food and the wire, the knives and the water, which some was put into a small case that he found. -
Ron went and continued across the expanse, ever worried about what he may find.
(I am going to take a break, I am not done so NO POSTING PLZ.) -
Ron, as he walked, looked up at the sky. He had never really considered the fact that something lies beyond. What could it be? He felt like exploring everything. He wanted to know everything.
Other than that, he wanted to meet people. He wanted to make friends. He wanted to figure out what in the world was going on.
Who destroyed that village?
Why would someone do that?
Ron started to leave the village, taking a sip of clear crystal water before he left. -
Later, about around noon I should say, Ron had a thought. A small one. A thought. What was it? He felt some sort of voice, only it was not a voice, it was not really an urge either. Ron was confused. I cannot exactly explain this feeling, but only that it begged him to go the other way.
But Ron, trying to follow the animal skin he had, he did not turn back. -
Ron was confused. Did he make a right choice? Did he make a good decision? Of that, Ron did not, could not know. Ron stared. At his hand now, amazed by how new and how old it seemed. He turned his attention to the ground, red-orange soil, dirt, and green grass, as if this field were an endless ocean, with only a few islands of trees every mile or so. The land was flat now. As far as he could see, it was just flat. Ron started to feel a grave straight of dissatisfaction; he knew he would never cover it all. He knew that he would never get out. In his conflicted mind, only knowing of pain and death, and nothing else, it felt like a corrupt endless prison of painful looking soil of blood! Or horror! The meaningless of it all was weighing him down.
But Ron did not know that that wasn’t so. He was too stuck on his memory, basically his only memory, a memory of fear. But he saw it different now. It felt like anger. Was he angry? No, but he was feeling for the man. Why? He wished he hadn’t die. It was weird to Ron, and he felt loss. But he had not known this person, you might argue. Yeah, you are right, but in a world of seemingly endless fields this is the only individual Ron ever knew.
Now, for those people who are confused, imagine your self in the same situation as Ron.
What is the point?
What do you think. Is there something you need to do in your life? Get that job? Get that money? Get that spouse or meet that goal?
Seems meaningless, doesn’t it? -
Ron saw the town in the distance. 2-3 miles away, it seemed. The buildings were tall-looking. It looked big.
Ron worried that it would be like the last.

CHAPTER 4: BROKEN WALLS
Ron went at it, seeing a large wall outside. It had cracks and moss and vines were growing all over it. There were small holes in the walls, and out came… tips of arrows! They were aiming at him!
“Who goes there!” Said a bold iron voice.
“Uh…” Ron did not know what to say.
“Respond or leave!” Said the walls, “Of what purpose did you arrive at this town?”
“I was looking for civilization and I found this map and..”
“WHO ARE YOU!” Interrupted the voice.
“Ron? I think… I don’t know who I am.” Ron was understandably confused in this situation. -
(Eh… I’ll continue it later, and if you want to send feedback about any it of this story, plz report to my home thread in the lounge. It is called ‘New World; New Thread’. Thank you. Bye)
