Chapter Ten: The Dream Happens.
The look on his face is obviously confusion, that much is clear. But, then I remember that I'm in my new body. "Oh, this isn't your older bro, B. I am." I turn around to face him, letting my guard down a little unintentionally. Just as I try to speak again, Dark Mike runs from behind me and grabs hold of my brother, its dark Master Sword materializing. It holds the blade up to Brandan's neck, cutting in a tiny bit. "You shouldn't have come, you know. Master is going to kill you once he forms here." I draw my blade with my right hand and grip it tight, tight enough to turn my knuckles white. "Let him go, he has nothing to do with this. Why don't we fight somewhere else?" I growl, glaring daggers at my shadow. It thinks for a moment before nodding, a vicious looking grin on its face. It releases its grip on my brother and runs downstairs, and after I check to make sure Brandan is okay, I follow it. I only glance briefly at my family as I pass, and then we get outside and move into the street. "Master is almost free, now he just needs something from you. He needs your blood!" Dark Mike rushes at me, sword held high. Quickly taking the Hylian Shield off my back, I block its attack with it, and jab forward with my weapon, hitting it in the left shoulder. It makes no reaction but moves back before coming in to attack again, using a move that it copied from me. I jump back before his spin attack can hit me, and I dash forward after it stops spinning. Quickly taking a deep breath, I slash at my shadow horizontally, and it hits without delay. This time though, it stops. It closes its eyes, and then opens them as we are teleported to a new and unfamiliar place. The air around me feels heavy, and cold. As I breathe, I look around and notice that there is a sudden strain on my body, and I feel slightly fatigued. I feel a little weak as my body trembles in the dark atmosphere. I raise my weapon, shouting a battle cry as I try to slice Dark Mike. It dodges out of my way and stabs me through my chest. The blood flows quickly out, and I struggle for breath. "Your blood will resurrect my master, False Hero!" It screams, before my eyelids flutter. It pulls its weapon out of my chest slowly, and the pain is intense. I can barely stop myself from screaming as it finally just yanks the dark blade out of me, and my feet start to lose their balance. I summon enough energy to stop myself from hitting the ground face first, and my stomach hits the ground. Right as my eyes begin to shut, a flash of golden light smacks right into Dark Mike, causing it to screech. The scene changes and we are back on Earth, back in the street in front of my house. "You! This isn't over, my master will be free yet!" It disappears as someone helps me sit up. A familiar, terrified voice asks me if I am still alive. Zelda holds a bottle over my mouth, and I drink the blue liquid within it. The pain lightens a little, and I feel a strange sensation as my wounds disappear completely after ten seconds. "How did you get here, Zelda?" I ask her, slightly curious, but more grateful. "That portal didn't close after you left, so I followed you after I figured out what was happening. Turns out I got here just in time." I smile up at her, then stand on my feet. "Thank you. You saved my life. One day, I can only hope to repay the debt." I turn around as I hear someone approaching, and I turn to see my family, Brandan in front. "Micheal, what the hell happened?" I smile warmly and sigh. "It's a long story, bro. Maybe I'll tell you after I get something to eat." -
Chapter Eleven: Revealing What Happened.
"...and after that, I found myself back in Canada, so I asked around for anyone that knew where I was, or Dark Mike was, rather. And now, here I am." I look over to Zelda, smiling. "And my savior here is none other than the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda." Brandan gasps. "You mean, like in the video game?" He asks, and I nod. "Yes, and Hyrule is as beautiful as Nintendo has shown it to be. You all should come see it for yourselves sometime. But.." I stand up, grabbing my gear and equipping it onto myself. "I still have some business that needs to be taken care of, like the fact that not only is Hyrule in danger, but this dimension, too. A nameless evil threatens to destroy Earth and Hyrule unless someone rises to stop it." I smirk, putting my green cap on. "Of course, I mean me. I can't just let this evil destroy everything, I'm the Replacement Hero because Link died unexpectedly. He gave me his power, his courage, and so now, I must stop the evil from destroying everyhing." Zelda gets up, too. "We'll be back soon, but don't wait up, this could be disasterous." The portal is opened again, and as I wave to my family, something feels wrong. A sudden, creeping feeling of dread takes over me, and I look back before closing the portal. The last thing I see is a brilliant flash of golden light, and then nothing. -
Chapter Twelve: The Darkness Consumes The Hero.
With a cry of pain, I open my eyes and cough up blood. Struggling to get to my feet, I notice that I'm back in Hyrule, but something happened. The sky is dark, and the air feels heavy. I grunt as something pins me down to the ground, and I see Zelda a few feet away from me. She just starts to come to when a shadowy figure grabs her by the throat, and begins to choke her. "You've failed, faker." The person says, before tightening his grip. I try to move, but something is blocking me, holding my arms and legs down. Watching helplessly, I freeze just as Zelda closes her eyes, her life fading...
The Evil's point of view:
The princess's body falls from my hand, lifeless, and I look at the faker with a grin on my face. "You're next.." He looks up to me, eyes twitching, and something feels different. "Shut up!" His face darkens, and then he changes a bit. His eyes are now shining red, and a dark aura surrounds him. "She didn't.. she didn't deserve this.." His voice falters, before he glares at me. "I'll make you suffer for that!" His voice becomes deeper as he yells at me, and he runs over to me.
My point of view:
All I see is red, and my anger explodes. I punch the figure in the chest with explosive force, and then knee him in the face. Before he recovers, I continue hitting him repeatedly, threatening to lose it completely. "You'll be writhing in pain once I'm done with you!" -
Chapter Thirteen: Emotions Revealed.
Punch after punch after punch. Without a moment's rest, I hit the evil being again and again, my anger somehow rising after each blow. Every pain sound that fills my Hylian ears fuels me even more, and my blood lust increases tremendously. The only thought that comes to my mind is of how I'm going to kill him, and then a thought hits me. I can revive her with a fairy! My anger slows a bit and I return to my normal form again. I eventually pull the Master Sword off my back. "Sorry to cut this short, but I've got a Princess to resurrect." I slash him down the middle, and he grunts in pain. I try to do it again, but he disappears. "This isn't over. I'll be back to get you soon! But for now, why don't I leave you with a parting gift?" Something white flashes and falls next to me, and I pick it up. "Oh great, a mask.." I turn my attention back to Zelda, and I pick her up bridal-style before beginning to run through Hyrule Field.
~~~
After travelling to a Fairy Fountain, I run back to Hyrule Castle and to Zelda's room. I shut the door behind me and sigh. "I can't believe I thought she was dead permanently..." I sit next to her on the bed and lower the bottle to her face, uncorking it. The little pink fairy hovers around Zelda's body for a moment, before flying around and releasing pink healing orbs. I give my grateful thanks to the little pink fairy and watch as Zelda opens her eyes, but I don't stop the tears from falling from my eyes. "Welcome back, Zel.." I let out a small cry and throw my arms around her, feeling sad and happy at the same time. "What happened?" She asked, confused. "That thing killed you, but I fought it off and revived you. Now, here we are." I finally calmed down enough to explain, and I let go of her briefly. "And I've realized how much I care for you, so much that I almost became evil after he killed you-" She stops me by putting a finger to my lips. "It's okay now, thanks to you." She moves closer to me and kisses me softly on the lips, and I pull her closer to me as I return the gesture. -
Awesome.
This is epic.
But still:
Chapter Fourteen: A New Quest.
A few minutes pass before we break from our embrace. "I still have things to do, and you must go back to being the ruler of Hyrule." Zelda nods slowly, before kissing me one last time. "I know. But, when this is all over, will you come back to me?" I grab her hand with my right one, and kneel before her, placing my left hand over my heart. "I promise you that I will return." With a smile on my face, I get up and walk over to the door, waving goodbye and opening it. I close it and quietly sneak my way around the castle, eventually finding the exit. But, before I leave, my ears pick up voices in a nearby room, and I hear my name being spoken. I quietly press my ear to the door and listen in. "...Mike is not to be trusted, under any circumstance! After all, he's the one who attacked me. Your Majesty, I know that we never saw eye to eye, but I'm telling you the truth. My wounds-" A man grunts, obviously in pain. "...will tell you that!" A lot of things run through my mind, but I decide just to leave. I exit through the main doors and walk into Castle Town.
~~~
The sun is now quite high in the sky, a brilliant yellow orb that doesn't seem to move. As I make my way to the Bazaar, a small child catches my eye. "Help pwease! My daddy, my mommy..!" I walk over to the sobbing child and kneel next to him. "What is wrong, young one?" Wiping his eyes, he speaks a little clearer. "My daddy and mommy disappeared earlier. I don't know where they went!" I pat the child's back, trying to soothe him. "It's alright, I'll help you look for them." I stand up as he smiles. "Really?" I nod and return the smile, before he grabs my hand. "I was in the graveyard when they disappeared, we should look there." We walk to the small graveyard behind the town, and when we get there, a strange feeling hits me. Why does this kid look familiar? I shrug it off and go to look for his parents.
~~~
"Help us! We're down here!" I take the key I found and open a door that leads to a lower area in the dungeon. I usher the little boy out of his hiding spot. "Come, I think they are down here." We make our way down the stairs, and I shoot all the Keese that fly above us. "Hey! Help us! We're locked in here!" My ears pick up a faint shuffling sound behind us, and I turn to the boy. "Hide, now!" He goes to do that, and I unsheathe my weapon, preparing to battle. A loud screech hits the air, and I find myself paralyzed. A strange monster shuffles out of the shadows and comes over to me. "Redead!" I try to say, but I'm currently frozen. Just as it gets to me, my movements return, and I roll out of its way, before striking it a few times. It then falls to the floor, defeated, and I pick up another key from its body. "This should open the cell." I hold the key and unlock the door, and the people that were trapped inside ran out. "Oh, thank you! You saved us! But do you know of our child?" The woman, the kid's mother I presume, asks me. I whistle to let him know it is okay to come out. "Bradley! Oh, we're here!" The mother and child hug, and the father walks over to me. "Thank you for freeing us. We came here to mourn our kin when these ghosts grabbed us. And I see that you are a swordsman. Are you of any mind to put your skills to use saving Hyrule?" I nod. "I sure am. And I am trying to, but I decided to help your son find you both." He nods and laughs. "Let's get out of here, shall we?" -
Chapter Fifteen: Another Quest And More Darkness.
The man had introduced himself as Cooper, his wife Charlotte, and son Bradley, then walked them home. After that, he joined me outside. "Come, I'll buy you a drink as a reward for saving us." He said, starting to walk in the direction of south Castle Town. "Eh, if you insist. Although, I don't think this will be necessary." He laughed lightheartedly and turned to me. "It's the least I can do, after all. And it seems to me that you could use a break." I sigh, rubbing my temples. "Yeah, you are right, there." We make our way to the Milk Bar in southern Castle Town and walk down a short stone path that leads to the main door. "You can also meet some of the resistance members; this place is like a hangout spot for us." He opens the door and we both jump when we hear someone shout. "This is not my specialty, now leave me alone!" An old man bumps into me and glares at me before heading out the door. I look to Cooper and he shrugs. "But if he isn't helped, he could die!" A young blond haired woman says, looking saddened. I suddenly take it upon myself to help. "May I ask if I could be of assistance?" The woman turns to me, a small smile on her face. "Would you really do that, and for a complete stranger?!" I bow slightly before turning to face her. "I like to think I am an everyday hero." The young lady beams with delight. "Do you know of a village west of here, called Kakariko?" I nod and say, "I've heard of it, just never been. Am I to assume that I will be escorting you and that child over there?" She nods, then holds out her hand. "My name is Ilia. My friend Telma has a horse drawn carriage that we will be riding in. Oh, I should have asked.. do you have a horse?" I frown and shake my head no. "That's okay, maybe Telma can get one for you." Another woman, taller and a bit bigger, walks into the room. "Is everything all right, honey?" Ilia turns to her. "Telma, the town doctor wouldn't help the poor Zora boy. But, I remember that you told me about the shaman in Kakariko and he offered to escort us there." The taller woman, Telma, turned to me. "Is that right? Okay, get ready hon, we need to leave now." Telma walks over to me. "My name is Telma, and you must be the famous Mike. You remind me of someone similar." I nod, and ask her, "Do you have a spare horse I could use? I really just walked everywhere before, and I have a feeling this will take speed to finish." Telma points to the back of the room. "There is a horse stall back there, go see." I thank her and make my way to the stalls. A few horses line the stalls, and I pet each one until one of them comes up to me. A dark colored, female Mustang, I supposed, with a long white tail and mane. "Will you accept me as your rider?" I ask it, before letting it loose. It walks over to me and nuzzles my face before I climb up onto its back. It stays still and doesn't react at first, then it whinnies in acceptance. "Good girl." I pet its head before leading it outside.
~~~
Telma, Ilia, and the Zora child meet me outside of Castle Town, in a carriage. "Are you ready, Mike? This plain is full of monsters, so you'd best prepare." Sitting atop my horse, I unsheathe the Master Sword in my right hand and carry the reins with my left. "I'm good to go." I tense a little as I hear the horn call of the bokoblins. -
Chapter Fifteen: Another Quest And More Darkness Continued.
We're off, my horse speeding just ahead of the carriage. As we are moving, a bunch of birdlike monsters that I have never seen before fly toward us. "Watch out!" I warn Telma, before slashing at some of the monsters. She leads the carriage out of the way, and narrowly misses the attacks from the bird things. Another one swoops down toward me, when I get the sudden urge to bite it. In a swift move, I grab it by the throat and dig my teeth into its neck, and I can feel my teeth, specifically my canines, grow in length a few centimeters, before I consume some of its flesh. My horse can sense what is going through my mind, and speeds up, barely giving the carriage time to catch up. "What are you doing, Mike?" Telma calls behind me, and I slowly turn around and smile at her. It must have creeped her out, because it looks like she shudders momentarily before trying to follow me again. "What can I say? I'm really hungry!" I yell, my voice sounding a lot deeper. A bunch more bird monsters surround me, but I make quick work of them. Suddenly, my horse stops, and I am almost thrown off. Regaining my senses, yet also becoming light headed, I fall off the side of my horse, feeling the terrible taste of bile rising in my throat. One retch, and my recent meal becomes a green mass on the ground. Telma pulls the carriage over, a moment of peace coming over the plains. "What the hell was that?" She asks, helping me to my feet. "I don't know, I think I ate something bad." She scoffs. "Of course you ate 'something bad', you tore out the throat of one of those creatures." My eyes widen, as I do not remember what just happened. "I did? Oh no.." Another call of the bokoblin's horn stops my mind from racing, and I flinch as I hear the sound of an animal's feet thumping on the ground. "This isn't good..." -
Chapter Sixteen: A Desperate Situation And The Mask of The Fierce One.
I get to my feet as two bokoblins atop a boar speed toward me. "Go! There's only a little bit more distance to go before you reach Kakariko, so head there!" I yell to Telma, who runs back to the carriage and moves toward the village. I turn my gaze back to the bokoblins and side step as they almost run me over. Taking a second to build up power in my blade, I spin around quickly when they approach me, sword extended out. The energy hits the boar and sends the bokoblins flying off, and I laugh as I hear them hit the ground. Suddenly, something hits me, no, cuts me from behind, hitting my left arm and cutting in pretty deep. I barely stop myself from screaming as I move away from what got me, and I see a big armored monster with a sword and shield. "A Darknut? But aren't they located within dungeons?" I ask myself, and then grasp my arm to cover up my wound. I grunt and clench my teeth as the huge wave of pain radiates throughout my arm, and my shield drops. The Darknut walks slowly over to me, then gets into a battle stance that leaves its back open. Trying desperately to ignore the searing pain, I roll behind it and jump as I swing around, cutting its back. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop it from kicking me in the stomach, and I hit the ground, coughing and grabbing my arm again. It slowly and ominously raises its weapon, ready to take my life. At this point, everything seems to be going in slow motion to me, and as it swings its sword down, I pull out the mask the nameless evil left for me and put it on in a futile attempt to prolong my life. The next thing I notice is that the Darknut is wriggling on the ground underneath my boot. Somehow, its armor has been stripped off and its weapons thrown aside, and I grip onto the Master Sword- "Huh?" The weapon I'm holding on to is actually not the Blade of Evil's Bane, but actually a long, double edged green and blue helix blade. The blade glows and paritcles of dark magic are shimmering around it. After taking a quick glance at it, I raise it and slash at the Darknut's throat, its head making a sickening thudding sound as it hits the ground. It then disappears into a black mist, and I'm left wondering what the hell happened. -
Chapter Seventeen: A Short Time of Peace, Then An Unexpected Quest Begins.
The blade hits the grass and my hands are instantaneously at my face, trying to pull the mask off. Something is off, very off, and I can tell because of the feeling I'm receiving. The mask's power feels dark, ominous, even, and after a few unsuccessful tries I pull the thin layer of skin off my face. It transforms back into a mask and I return to my former self, sighing with relief. "So, that's how Link felt with that thing on.." I say, recalling my experiences with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Realizing that it is deathly quiet in Kakariko Gorge, I grab my horse's reins and walk the short rest of the way to the village, keeping an eye out for other creatures that might try to kill me.
~~~
"It is true, Colin. Ilia has lost her memories, and regaining them will be no simple task. So, until then, I'd like to ask you to stay here until Ilia remembers everything; it is our turn to show the courage that you have already displayed." Colin grinned widely, nodding happily, and ran back into the inn, leaving me and the Shaman alone outside. "I heard you were the one who led Telma, Ilia, and the child here. Am I correct?" He asked me politely, and I nodded. "Well, then you must be the ever so famous Mike I keep hearing about. We are well met, I am Renado." He holds out his right hand, and I shake it, giving him a small, polite smile. "How in Hyrule have I become famous?" I ask, before laughing lightheartedly. "Word does travel fast here, you know. All because of that hardworking mailman. Speaking of him, there's a letter that he sent here a few hours ago, said he'd expect you to be here." I cock my head, interested, and take the letter Renado gives me. The elegant handwriting, perfumy smell, and royal wax seal gives away the person who sent it. "It would seem that you and the princess know each other fairly well." I can't hide the crimson flush that breaks out on my face, and I can barely speak. "Y-yeah, i-it would seem s-so.." Renado pats me on the back and laughs briefly. "I'm only messing with you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and prepare the guest rooms." Renado bows before he walks through the inn's front doors, leaving me alone outside. I put the letter inside the breast of my tunic and walk over to my horse, which is currently drinking water from a spring. "We did it, girl. We got them here, safe and sound." As I finish what I said, I realize that this horse hadn't been named, and I nuzzle its snout. I glance around and come up with something. "Spirit." I whisper, before repeating it a bit louder. She whinnies in what I'd say was agreement, and I brush a hand through her long white mane, chuckling a little when Spirit pushes her head against my hand. "Well, better get going, shall we?"
~~~
Whilst riding throughout the huge field, I see something that makes me worry a bit. In a little spot out in the open field, there is a child watching me from the center of a circle of flowers, her eyes seemingly following my every movement. I dismount from Spirit and walk over to her, my head cocked to the side. Something about this child is pulling at my curiosity, and I want to know why.. She suddenly stands up, and holds out her hand. "Welcome, Hero. The one who summoned me wishes to put you through some tests, to see if you are worthy of fighting him. Hold out your hand and get ready.." Her voice was really calm, almost mature sounding, and I stepped closer to grab what she had. With a flash of golden light, I hold the item over my head and that familiar theme plays: "Dun dun dun duuuuunn!" It looks like a scepter of some sort, covered in all black, and a giant yellow orb on the top part of it. After I finished examining the rod, a portal appeared next to me. "Let me explain how this will work. Where you will be going is in a different dimension, the Shadow Realm. When you enter, a beast will almost instantaneously attack you, and when it tries, you must use the rod to separate from your body into a shadow creature. Once done, you will be able to defeat the monster, collect his reward, and literally face one of your worst fears. That's all the information you need, now, will you accept this quest?" Without hesitation, I grip the Shadow Rod and nod, and we both enter the portal... -
Chapter Eighteen: The First Trial: Trial By Shadow.
When my feet touch the ground on the other side of the portal, I tense up a little. The girl that was beside me before now hovered next to me, in a blackish purple fairy form with almost crystal clear wings. "I am to be your guide as you navigate throughout the chosen lands. You may refer to me as Iris." She said, hovering now next to my face. "Oh, okay. Nice to meet you, Iris." After a brief moment of silence, something moves really fast behind us, and I jump out of the way just as a monster slashes at me. It had dark grey skin, no hair, two big red eyes, two arms and legs, an ancient looking sword, and a wicked smile. I noticed instantly that it almost towered over me, and I thrust the Shadow Rod skyward. Grunting in slight pain, my vision steadily becomes clearer, and I can tell I've grown by a few feet. I look at my hands and see that the Master Sword and Hylian Shield are already there, the blade glowing with pure white light. I look around the rest of my body and Iris speaks. "You have taken on the form of a Shadow Stalfos. It is almost identical to how your body type is, so I'm sure you'll be used to it shortly. Now, the weak spot on this beast is its back, so attack there." I nod and wait for the beast to attack, then when it does, I roll around it and jump up while spinning with my blade pointed outward. After that, I repeatedly attack certain areas on its back, and eventually, I hit it with one last, strong strike. When my attack connects, the beast drops its weapons and falls to the ground, dead. Afer that, something that looks like a red rectangle appears, and I walk over to it. I notice that it is a pedestal for a sword. "Place the Blade of Evil's Bane within the pedestal, Mike." Iris tells me, and I do exactly as she says. The hilt of the blade suddenly vibrates in my hand, and after a moment, the blade itself is covered in red steel. I pull the blade out of the pedestal and sheathe it, before looking to Iris. "Want to take a break?" Before I can even answer her, she transforms back into her human form and grabs my hand, pulling me over to another portal. "Here, a Great Fairy's Fountain." I walk through the portal and relax greatly when I hear the soothing theme. I walk over to the main part of the fountain and look at my reflection in the water. "The young Hero has come, at last!" A voice said, seemingly from nowhere. "Yes, and you must be the great fairy of this fountain?" A figure erupts from the water and hovers in air. She is very tall, with bright orange hair, big brown boots, and is wearing barely anything except for vines covering her precious areas. "That would be me. Now would you like to heal and rest up?" She asks me, in a kind and gentle voice. I think for a moment, then nod. "Okay." She laughs and bursts into little bright orange fairies and they fly over to me, hovering around me. As they heal me, I can't help but yawn and lay on the ground, my energy slowly fading. The last thing I see is Iris, who comes over to me and lies next to me. "Sweet dreams, Mike." She says, before my consciousness fully drifts away and I'm lulled into sleep.
~~~
When I awake, I hear slow and steady breathing beside me, and I see Iris, who is snuggled up next to me. "Why do I get the feeling I already know her..?" I say to myself, before she stirs awake. "What?" She asked, rather sleepily. "Nothing." I say, before I sit up. "Ready for the next trial?" She asks, and I nod. "Good, because you won't survive unless you are at one with the evil within you.." -
Chapter Nineteen: The Second Trial: Trial By Fire.
"What?!" I nearly panic at hearing her words, startled by the calm emanating from them. "Don't worry, I was kidding about you surviving. However, if even a speck of disorder lies within you, it is going to hurt.." I groan and get to my feet, my head aching a little. "Whatever, let's get this over with.." We step through a portal surrounded by fire, and we appear in a giant circular room with black flames surrounding the border. The portal makes a loud crashing noise as it closes behind us, and Iris takes on her fairy form. "Sit down in the middle of the room and put your hands on your lap." She tells me, and I oblige. When this happens, all outside noises cease to be, and all becomes quiet. A sudden shock causes me to become unconscious, and I wake in a dark room with red eyes watching me. A growl slowly rises from the shadows, and I speak. "Who and what are you?" Me? I'm you, of course. But I'm also not you. I exist, yet I exist only in a weakening prison. Tell me, Hero, why are you here? I don't speak, but it somehow knows what I want. It holds out its hand, and I take it. Just remember, I'm only helping you because if you die, I die as well. Never forget that. Goodbye for now... There's a sudden pain in my arm, and a funny smell in the air, and I see that my left arm is on fire. Before I can scream, my consciousness returns.
~~~
When I come to, I realize that I'm still sitting in the middle of the room, with Iris hovering around me. "Did you do it? Bond with your darkness?" Without a word, I draw the Blade of Evil's Bane and watch as it slowly transforms into a dark and corrupted version, with black flames shimmering around the blade. "I'd say it was pretty successful." We both walk over to another portal, and I sheathe my weapon. "The last trial. Ready?" I nod, and step into the portal. -
Chapter Twenty: The Third and Final Trial: Trial By Water.
With a scream, then a gurgle, I fall from the previous portal into water, a place I remembered playing in Ocarina of Time, from my childhood. I swim over to land. "Lake Hylia?" The water and most of the land, however, had changed a lot from what I remembered. The water had turned a poisonous shade of purple, the fishing hole and diving center buildings were broken and on fire, and in the middle of all the chaos, a lone figure garbed in a faded and red stained green stood atop a pile of bodies. It, he, turned around to face me, and his eyes were the things that creeped me out the most. His eyes were beady little red dots within hollow black sockets, and he seemed to be crying tears of blood. I only took a second to look at him before I knew who it was. "Hello, Hero. Have you c-come to p-play?" His voice was dark, and he seemed to stutter whenever he spoke. "Ben, what have you done? Those were innocent people!" Ben laughed before speaking again. "T-that's why it was s-so f-funny when they s-struggled." His voice had taken on a robotic glitch sounding tone, and I ran over to him. "You shouldn't have done that.." He said, before teleporting behind me. "Now you will be tempted to use your dark powers. And when you do, you'll find that it can be quite addicting." I draw my blade, and it transformed into the dark version. "Shut up, Ben. I think you need to shut up, and get what's coming to you." Putting my guard up, I slowly walk forward, weapon in hand. He sighs and smirks, looking at me intently. "I'll make you use those powers and become uncontrollable." My mind blank and my focus entirely on this fight, I rush Ben, slashing at multiple areas all over his body. To my disappointment and slight anger, he parries them all, and then moves in to attack me. I jump back as he jabs forward with his weapon, the Gilded Sword. We both attack each other and our blades clash, sending sparks flying and causing my temper to flare. I'm the first one to move, kicking Ben in the stomach and jumping back to gain a little room. Ben sees through me, though, and rushes at me again. Without thinking, I raise up my left arm and let the blade cut into it. Trying my very best to ignore the pain, I cut into Ben's left leg a little, and he screeches. We both jump back and think about our next move, breathing deeply. I take the Hylian Shield off my back and place it as gently as I can over my left arm, clipping it into place. I clench my fingers together around the steel bar firmly and hold it up. I look over to Ben, who was smiling again. Without a word, his form changed, and I almost couldn't stop myself from running over to him. "Oh Mike, help me.." Ben took on the form of a badly wounded and almost naked Zelda, and his voice sounded just like her's. She, or rather he, slowly limps over to me, and I don't react at all. "Mike.." With a soft grunt, the imposter Zelda topples over, and in a moment of weakness, I drop my equipment and catch her, or him. "You should always keep your guard up!" Zelda's voice yelled, and a blinding hot pain surged through my chest. I look down and see that there is a huge hole going through my chest, and I barely react as I fall to the ground. My eyes struggle to stay open as I watch Ben shift back to his original form. "Your darling princess isn't here to save you now!" He yelled, before throwing back his head and laughing. A soft and gentle voice then spoke to me, comforting me. "I'll take care of him, Mike, you just lay down and relax..."
The body that once held the spirit of courage stood up, the blood staining the tunic it is wearing. Ben looks at it, smirking. "Well, looks like you've awakened after all." He said, noticing a few changes that took place. He saw that the vessel had longer hair that turned gray, eyes that glowed pure red, dead grass at its feet, darker toned skin, and face markings that belonged to the Oni. Its wounds begun to heal and disappear, before it looked over to Ben. Pure malice glared forth from its eyes, and it grabbed the blade with its left hand, black fire shimmering around it. "I'm free, at last." It spoke, keeping a monotone voice. "As thanks, let me repay you for your kindness.." It said to Ben, before chanting in an unknown language. Ben's eyes widened when the pain hit, and after a moment, he exploded into black flames. Terrible screeching burst forth from Ben's windpipe, and a few moments later, there was no sound. "Excellent, it appears that my powers have not been tampered with." The vessel that once belonged to Mike murmered. "Child? Where have you gone off to?" Iris appeared in a matter of seconds, and hugged the demon. "I'm here... father.." -
Chapter Twenty One: Meeting With Zelda Part One.
The first thing I notice is that I am no longer in control of my body, the second being that I can hear everything that is being said, and see everything. "Father?!" That is what my mouth opens to say, but the sound doesn't come out. Realizing that it is completely futile to speak or try to move, I just listen and watch..
"I've missed you so, Irissella. My, but how you've grown." Oni Mike kneeled next to the small child and scooped her into his arms. "I've missed you as well, father. It has been some time since we last saw each other, three years exactly." The demon hoisted the child onto his shoulders. "I say we go have some fun, what would you like to do?" She thought for a moment, then pointed north. "How about going to Castle Town and getting mother first? She hasn't woken up yet." The demon nodded, a genuine smile on his face. "Okay, let's go get your mother!"

After an hour of walking, they eventually came to the castle, and the soldiers blocked the way. "I'm afraid we can't let you in, Princess's orders. Said she was waiting for someone." Oni Mike smirked. "Oh, I am that someone. My name is, uh, what was it..? Oh, Micheal. Tell her Micheal is at the gate." One of the soldiers left to go and confirm that, while the others still blocked the way. A moment later, the other soldier came back. "The Princess says we can let him through." Oni Mike smiled and walked up to the castle, the soldiers taking back their guard positions. "I can't wait to see her, can you, father?" The demon shook his head no, and opened the main door leading into the castle. After traversing the many halls, he finally fond her room. Setting Irissella down, he gently knocked on her door, and heard a voice from the other side. "You can come in." He opened the door to find the Princess sitting on her bed, dressed in one of her royal gowns. "I know who you are, and why you`re here. You aren't Micheal." Irissella stayed out in the hall, and closed the door so she would not hear what was to come next. Oni Mike's eyes remained calm, and he spoke. "My Queen!" -
Chapter Twenty One: Meeting With Zelda Part Two.
"My Queen! It has been too long. Our child and I would like to see you again." Zelda looked confused. "I'm not your Queen." The Demon nodded. "I know Zelda isn't, but the woman within her is." Zelda looked up as the demon walked over to her, before standing up. "No, that is not true. Now, leave." The demon grabbed her arms and held them above her head, then leaned in closer to her face, his red eyes glowing fiercely. "I can't do that, Irissella is waiting. I must resurrect my Queen." Zelda struggled to break her arms free, but the demon's grip was like iron. "Let me go! Or I'll-!" Oni Mike's lips were on Zelda's within a second, and he kissed her with a godlike gentleness. Zelda went limp at the feeling, and eventually fell unconscious in the demon's arms. He lay her on the bed, then began chanting in an ancient language. After he finished, Zelda's body began changing until her form was completely different. Her hair had grown a bit longer and had dyed black, her eyes had changed from light blue to deep violet, her clothing had changed, and she flashed a big smile. "Gimme another kiss, you big stud!" Oni Mike happily abliged and pulled her really close to himself. "I've been dying to see you again, Queen Larissa." Their lips met with a hungry passion, their eyes burning with happiness. "And I have ached to feel you again, King Damian." Irissella walked in, climbing onto the bed. "Mother! Father! We are all reunited!" She gave them a big hug, as they returned the gesture. "Well now, who wants to take over Hyrule?"
