It's a b---- to start it takes two or three tries to get her going and when I put it in drive there's a grinding noise then it jurks forward. I have no f---ing idea what to do now any suggestions?

sounds like an old car? if its just getting old there might be no real cure, youll just end up spending more fixing it than it would cost to get a new car..
when you start it and it wont start does it do anything? it could be the starter soleniod, I had to replace that in my car. its just a little part in the fuse box thing. -
if its a stick shift it could be the clutch. if not you might have done something wrong with the transmission or it could be your engine

Took it to a mechanic. ._. Thank god the mechanic is my neighbor and we're like family. :P he said he'll find out what the problem is fix it free of charge he hasn't told me what it is yet though.
