Thread Topic: this lock on owners request thing is kinda ridiculous

Literally Whiningâ„¢
^she's only neutral because The Coldest Sun is neutral, hahahahahaha -
oh my god
i agreed with someone
that must totally mean i'm copying them huh -
To be honest I like that we can help someone by locking their thread for them. After all, the moderators did agree that it would be fair to lock threads (within reason) since users were skeptical on letting us lock our own threads to keep trolls out. Even if we don't lock our "official" threads anymore, we're still happy to help where we can.
I'd also like to note we have locked some of your threads per your request, Drew. Without asking why. Such a shame you're trying to argue for something you'd readily ask us to do yourself... -
no, because you told me you usually followed whatever The Coldest Sun said
so, uh
I am not entirely wrong -
and I was disagreeing with anyone? so that @ me with that bulls---
-
*wasn't disagreeing or agreeing
-
Yeah, she actually hasn't said anything relevant to the topic at hand whatsoever, Darkness. She's just here to complain.
-
Woah, Drew being somewhere just to complain? That's pretty out of the ordinary.
I personally don't mind people asking to lock threads. I, myself, would rather not see tons of posts about people wanting certain threads of theirs locked, but since it's literally the only way to ask and get it to happen, I can't complain. -
Moonflower785 NewbieMy view on this matter is that if the thread is breaking the forum rules, then it should be locked with the owner's permission. Similarly, a thread could be locked (again, with the owner's permission) if someone is being harassed/trolled in the thread, or the thread is being spammed in. Otherwise, there is no real reason for the thread to be locked. I think that if the owner wants the thread locked, they should give a reason why.
-
The question then would be, what constitutes a legitimate reason for us to lock the thread for them?
-
If for some reason it is necessary to shut down whatever conversation is happening.
-
like, an argument is about to start going down or something or bunch of trolls are there as a short term solution
if there is something that counts as a troll, just delete the posts.
