I honestly don't see how this would help with anything. Having out of order posts on threads would just bother me. This sounds really inconvenient, especially since someone could upvote completely random posts that aren't relevant to anything and have those spam the top of the thread... Unless you made the upvoting and downvoting a thing for the Junior status and above to help prevent that, but even then there would still be people who would abuse it.

Like I said, someone can easily post a "correct reply" by copy and pasting or linking to the page the real answer is on. I had to update my Q&A because 1) people deleted the first post of my last two versions and 2) my data was wrong. If I had to "upvote" the real answers, the wrong ones would still be there, and as ICEE pointed out it would be extremely bothering to have posts all over the place.

It's not that I don't want regular users to have cool features. This particular idea is kind of useless and even the REGULAR USERS have said it's not that great.
P.S. might I remind you that I and another moderator did a favor for you? So the least you could do is be nice and not jump to conclusions about us? -
As for thread locking for users, I do agree that allowing them to lock and unlock threads would be nice as long as a moderator can also lock and unlock their threads. Additionally, if a moderator locks a thread, that user shouldn't be allowed to override the lock. However that's not the point of this thread and if anyone wants to further discuss it, I'd be happy to talk about it in another thread with everyone! (and try to get GTQ Guy on board)

I would like to suggest that if this proposition ever gets enforced with the locking and unlocking feature it comes with people being able to lock their threads but propose and filter certain users from being able to post in it in regards of it being locked.
Like they can choose which users can come in. -
pewdiepie123 Newbiethis sounds like a great idea we would be able to engage and the person who create the thread will know that it's helpful or not and create a ' better version'

I personally think being able to lock our own threads would be neat. Like, the mods could lock every thread. However, the users can only lock the threads they make. This is just a suggestion. It would allow users to be independent and not over use the power.
^TheColdestSun already does this with their own thread. I feel like users who are of a certain rank should be able to do this as well.
This thread is locked, therefore no new posts can be made.
