So people won't be like "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" and waste your time, why not add a Deactivate Account option in the profile of the user. If they decide to reactivate the account later, have it ask for a password then have them wait a few days before they can deactivate it again.
Just a thought. ._. -
Especially for Thomas C -
Thomas C wants his posts removed.

@Emma that would be awesome.
-
It really would. If someone wanted to give their phone number to a friend but didn't want to do it in forums (I mean, creeps would be able to find it, right?), they could just send a private message to their friend and share their number.
-
There's a bunch of different ways to get in touch with people outside of gtq. If you're paranoid about someone seeing your "private" stuff on one account/site, make a new account.
-
"Make a new Facebook with a fake name and give them that."
-
You could make a new email and give them that. Gmail is free and easy.
-
Who wants to go though the hassle of creating a new email? And creeps would still be able to access your new email and be able to track you. Happened to a friend of mine. She gave her email out to a friend on a website and some creep found it. It was a fake email account she had created just for people she met on the Internet. The creep was able to track her emails and figure out where they had come from. He eventually showed up at her house. If her dad wasnt a cop, she would be dead right now,

Yes?
-
G T Q Guy56 NewbieThey do not need their accounts taken away. What if someone clicks the button by accident? And for them being able to reactivate it would be stupid. So no.
-
^Are you supposed to be GTQ Guy or something?
I think it's a good idea. -
As do I. If someone is leaving for a long period of time it could prevent them from being found by hackers.
-
There could be that option that reads "deactivate account."
Then when you would click it, it could ask "are you sure?". And if we want to be even more secure that this won't happen by accident, after you click "yes", it can move you to a window where you are asked to enter your password to successfully deactivate.
But idk, that's just to prevent 'mistakes'. -
Yeah! That's why I suggested it. I deactivated an account on another site and it had that. I reactivated it because I wanted to delete something and I had to wait a week before I was able to deactivate it again.
