I guess I could count one as my best friend. and probably one I thought was perfect, but he turned out to be an a--hole. and one that reminds me of myself in the past.... not exactly like me though, that'll be interesting if that happens. I really like me, but if I was someone else I can see me getting sick of me... XD
Theres people asking if crushes count and if thats love and how do you know, but the first post by James, it says right there love is different to everyone and only you know what it is to you.... -

Lets see, uh, I fell in love with one of my really good friends, and we dont even talk anymore.
I believed this one boy I loved was perfect. Then I found out that he was REALLY wierd, and he made me feel very uncomfortable. This really shattered my heart.
I have not fallen in love with someone who is exactly like me. :/ Havent met anyone as wierd!
So I got one more to go! WOO! -
@tongue- um, sure, whatever. but who really wants to break your heart? you people don't even know what true romantic love is, do you? do you really, honestly think it's just lust and physical attraction, topped off with a crush? no, that's sooo stupid and elementary.
Falling in love is so deep you couldn't have your heart broken 3 times. By then you would be so wary of love no one could even get close. be it broken by friends, family, or romance, it would take a very special person to get close. I should no.
So maybe when you really understand what love is- and not a definition. Love is not sex. - maybe then you'll come back and see what I mean. Because no one- NO ONE- really wants to get their heart wripped to shreds because the person they thought was their forever and true love decided they weren't right for each other. get a clue. -
Unexpected... you totally missed the point of everything he said, and were completely oblivious to all the points he made. You have a really bad habit of doing that.
I see what you're getting at, but thinking that you'll just find someone and it'll be love at first sight is impractical. People act differently when you're dating than they do when you're just friends. People are too deep to be completely trustable in any situation. No matter how well you know them, there is always more depth.
I'm here to tell you that your first relationship is only special because it's your first. It's your first step into knowing what to do. How to be with someone. Everyone is clumsy the first time. I'm not talking sex either, I'm just talking about love. Your first time is learning how to read other people and open up as more than just friends. The people in this relationship may mature, but the love itself almost always remains under developed.
Every relationship is a learning and growing experience. You look at what bothers you or what hurts you and you learn about yourself. You learn what you really want in a person. What isn't as important as you originally thought. And what hurts you the most. You come that much closer to finding what would truly make you happy.
And if you think you truly know what you want then I pity you. It's going to hurt like a bitch when reality hits you. -
I agree with Bob. Also, you kind of said what you THOUGHT tongue believed, and it wasnt true. Im pretty sure Tongue isnt the kind of person who thinks true love is sex. So maybe YOU should get a clue.

My best friend- well, unless you count my best guy friend who liked me and i sorta liked him but mostly as a brother, and we ended up dating for a week (long story) but it wasnt really dating, and its somewhat awkward between us now...
My crush last year- i thought he was kind of perfect. Then my friend dated him (long f---ing story) and he was kind of a b----, and that and my friends later on in the year opened my eyes and i relized he was far from perfect.
Someone just like me- well... Theres this guy that i like right now. We have so so much in common, and i honestly do think he is a bit perfect. I know that most likely he isnt the right one for me in my life, but... Right now, he is. We are just like eachother (thoughts and mostly personality wise) and... I really really do like him. It feels so much more natural to be near him or to talk to him than my past crushes, and... I really like him. He is perfect to me right now. I like him more than ive ever liked anyone before so far. I know him best, because its so much more natural to talk to him and get to know him. ... I really really do like him. And were just like eachother. The complete oposite of the person ive mentioned as my second person in this post. He truely is perfect for me right now -
DarkestKiss Novice@Unexpected Bob is right. You were kinda jumping to conclusions and were implying (perhaps even outright stating) things about people that you don't even know are true. Even I got that Tongue meant it as a way of saying that it's wishful thinking and in reality is never going to happen.
