Er... I dunno. Probably when you know you want to be with someone forever, through thick and thin. When it hurts to be away from them. When it's not just about sex, and you still think they're beautiful without makeup or decent clothes. -
Love is caring about someone beyond what they look like or have done. It's commitment and trust. It's a deeper connection than anything else.

I think love is when you really enjoy being with someone. And you feel like you could be with them, even if you get tired of them, but you'd still love them.
And on a different level, it's when you love someone to the point that you'd do anything for them. And you'd never get tired of being with them. And you get butterflies around them, but you still love them and are comfortable around them.
It also really depends on the person. -
You need someone else to complete you, without them you feel empty and afraid.
You can hate them, like them or anything else, but love is something else entirely. You can't control it, or reign it in. You can hide it, but not for long without something inside you dying.
