Is it obvious you like someone if you give them a birthday present when you have never done that before? And they aren't your close friend?

Not technically.. It might be to some people, but not to others. :3

Yes, of course, it's obvious. It's rare to give someone you aren't close with. Well, it's your choice though, it's better if you get closer to him/her first.

It is really dependent on how you give it to that person. Example: If you gave that person their present covered in heart covered gift wrap, then it's obvious. But if it is covered in a solid colored gift wrap, then it doesn't have any double meaning.

It really depends how well they know you. If they know you rarely or never give people b-day presents, then yeah. Or if they know you are just not the one to give b-day presents much.
