Just let him sort things out himself. It is not going to do any better to sweet talk him into dumping him, because it'll pass you off as desperate. Nobody likes desperate people. He's a big boy; let him use his common sense.
You're not his babysitter. Yes, you have a crush on him, but that changes nothing. This is just puppy love. It's not "true". If he deserves someone like you, he'll be your boyfriend or whatever. But maybe you don't deserve someone like him. It's a very controversial thing. The best thing you should do is to back off of them. -
