Well sixteen and seventeen are so close to eighteen, that I don't think that's a big deal either. I guess I mean if you're still physically and mentally very young.

They were old enough. Dad was 32 and mom was like 22 or 23

No I definitely think you're capable of love and maturity in your teens. I think it would be difficult if it were say a 14 year old and liking someone older, but not necessarily wrong.
13 and below becomes pedo in my mind, though. :/ -
