Thread Topic: The Geek: Are you a girl?!

There are plenty of ways to have discussions that are gender neutral.
-
So now people aren't allowed to talk about personal, emotional things because they aren't gender-neutral?
Just....wow xD -
That's not where I was getting at. Typically you don't get personal with a random stranger on the street. People tend to on the internet for some reason.
-
Look, I'm not here to argue with you of all people, I'm just saying that it's none of our business what gender the geek is. That's all.
BECAUSE IT'S TRUE. YOU CAN ASK BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE I LESS TRUE. -
IT***
-
If people actually thought, it would be rather obvious.
-
Geek is actually a girl who lives in Canada. And her real name is Alexis. Hope this cleared everything up! XP
-
I knew she lived in Canada.
One question....is she a lesbian?
^ Based off of her perverted-as-hell posts that are targeted at girls, I'm assuming so.
When you meet new people you want to know if they're a boy or a girl. If I don't know someone's gender I won't make friends with them. Because I won't know what kind of things I should bring up in our convos. I wasn't talking about randomly giving out personal info on the street; I was referring to meeting new people and making friends with them. You're acting like gender is a sensitive thing. Like there's some sort of gender-ism or something. It's just gender. In RL you could look at someone and figure it out. So it's not like gender is a big, sensitive secret, as you are implying. It's just a gender....a simple question! Are you a boy or a girl! -
And WHAT'S true? Calm down.....

Daleksarecuteok Newbieerrrm , guys . casually scrolling through the forums and I saw this post . If I'm correct about their username , trust me The Geek's a dude .
-
Daleksarecuteok NewbieI'm aware how weird my reply looks . I blame the medication . Anyway , I mean that if The Geek is the real life person I think they are , he's a dude XD
-
I'm so friggin confused right now.

Stop bumping these old threads. This was cleared up a while ago.
-
UnLoving NewbieIdk 0-0 I thought he was a dude, but.....?
@carri - so you're suggesting we should just walk around, calling each other "it"s. -
Absolutely not. Stop twisting my words around.
I'm saying this is the f---ing internet, you don't need to know. On the streets, if you're not saying it to their face, saying 'he' or 'she' or whatever is fine, but to their face you can't be fully sure if they're comfortable with their gender I mean f--- they could be transgender or genderqueer and have gender dysmorphia (which is f---ing horrible i can tell you that) and assuming whatever they are can trigger it. I'm saying that if it's a random person you know on the street and they happen to have it and you misgender them, you could send them into spiraling depression.
Those people would usually tell you face up whatever pronouns they prefer, if not and it looks ridiculously obvious what their gender is, it seems like it /should/ be fine.
