^What Venom said is a good tip, however if you're just starting out, you shouldn't put in too many details.
If you're going to draw anime make sure at the very least you know the basics of anatomy. Just because it's a stylized cartoon form doesn't excuse eyes bigger than the head, and boobs the size of pluto. Always remember to take your time when you draw, if you rush yourself, the finished product will always be less than you expect it to be.
Also, it sometimes helps to study techniques of other artists, but utilize them in your own way. Sometimes even just studying artwork should be able to help you.
Also, if you ever need help, feel free to ask for it on the Anime forum, there are a lot of talented people in here.

I'm learning too, and what's helped me some is surprisingly youtube videos. Go figure.

^If you're watching speedpaint videos or tutorials, I'm not surprised. People reveal a lot of shortcuts and techniques when you watch them draw. It helps you learn faster in a way.

Wolfnkitty NoviceCram I try drawing anime but it ends up like crap. So if you think it's not going to well, just try drawing chibis. I'm good at that and it's easy. But if you look it up online don't click on the website called "howtodrawcartoons.com" their tutorial sucks griffin balls. JADEN YUKI FROM YUGIOH RULES!
