It's understandable you feel that way. I have to say, my country disappoints me on a regular basis as well. I'm not someone who hates America, but I greatly dislike what it's become. I just...I'm tired of nationalism, honestly. I may be American, but Mexican, Salvadorian, Canadian, Venezuelan, Native American, Taiwanese, Jewish, German, Prussian, ect. ect. It all is the same to me. We're all people, and should be judged by our character, not our bloody skin or background. It makes me sick how my country enjoys racism, sexism, and homophobia so much. :I But I know many many people who are not like that, at least.
And I can totally understand how all that history can hurt someone, and bring about so much distrust. Just know that there are still good people in this world. There is still hope.

Honestly, other countries are worse, sabes? In other places you can get killed for being homosexual and you can be excecuted for race and religion and stuff like that. America isn't the worst place to be, but there are some things that bother me..
Vene: The labelling doesn't really bother me too much. In fact, it helps sometimes to know people's situations a bit better. But I mean, the stereotypes and the discrimination.. It's gotten so bad that people live by those things.
And past events make us who we are.. And all we can do is look at the future and say "You know, I'll forget it and change". I don't think we can really mourn over it forever.
