We'll see how it turns out... Lol you guys don't even have to bother reading this.
It had been many, many years since he had spoken a single word. The last words he spoke had been the ones that took away the one thing, the one person he had. Since then he vowed to never mutter a single word again. For 5 long years he was quiet and he never spoke during that time. People thought he was insane. The friends he made so long ago no longer wanted to see him. They thought he was sick with some horrible disease. Yet they didn't know why things were the way they had come to be. The only person that knew was the person that he lost.. And the man was not speaking about the incident either.
How had this happen..? Alvaro wondered. Why had things come to be the way there were? Why couldn't they be the same gloriful days like before, when he was so young?
It was like yesterday when Alvaro met the man so long ago.. He bumped into him by accident, and seeing how the older blonde was startled, he had blushed and ran away. He was so embarrassed. He couldn't believe, later, that he had run away without saying sorry. How impolite! What a bad first impression. He must have seemed so rude.
Yet, he knew.. that he had a crush on the other little boy.
The next day he had gone looking for the other boy. He wanted to apologize to him, at least, and know his name. But what he saw didn't make him happy.
Two other children. A boy, black hair with a tube in hand. And a blonde girl. Holding onto the blonde boy. Squealing and giggling "Javi, Javi don't let Fernando touch me!". Seeing how tightly the boy Javi held her made him angry. And rather jealous, too. Javi laughed as the other boy hit him with the tube, and as he tried to protect the girl.
"No mames!" the boy laughed at Javi, trying to hit him hard enough so he'd let go of the girl.
Alvaro felt his blood boil. He ran off without a trace. Back at home, he tried to sort what he knew. Well, Javi obviously liked the girl. He thought the girl was cute.. Maybe he wouldn't like Alvaro because he was a boy. Why did he have to be born a boy? If he was a girl.. Javi would love him.
If he could dress up like a girl..
The next day, while his Papa Spain wasn't watching, he ran into the closet and took the first dress he could see. He also took a bow for his hair and some stockings. His own boots would be fine enough for the situation. Once he was done, he rushed out of the closet, looking very girly. If it hadn't been for his short hair, he could have easily been mistaken for a woman.
Being in a dress was weird, obviously because he was never in one. But he knew that it would pay off eventually when Javi would like him. Secretly inside, though.. He knew it was a little weird to have to dress up as a girl to make somebody love him.
He went outside, where everyone was having breakfast in the soft sunlight. The gardens Spain had were growing very well and it created nice scenery for the children. Also, it was fun to see how all different types of animals were attracted to the field of tomatoes and such. Though, the hired man and his child (who weren't really hired, but it wasn't right to call Portugal and Brazil the captured people) were chasing them out so they wouldn't bother the plants.
Alvaro went over and sat next to the same black-haired boy from the previous day. He gave him a weird look and said "Que pedo con el vestido?".
He didn't answer the boy. He stayed quiet and was scared to say anything. If he revealed his intentions, Javi would never like him.
"Sordo! I asked you a question, pendejo."
Javi glared at the boy and his green eyes snapped fire. "Leave her alone, Fernando. Why are you so mean?" He sighed a little and gave an apologetic look to Alvaro. "I'm sowwy. Don't listen to him, he's just a meanie. What's your name?"
Alvaro was surprised that Javi actually believed that he wasn't.. well, a boy. So much that he didn't speak for a while. That made Javi giggle, and he blushed. "Soy Blanca.. Chile," he said softly, looking at how Javi brightened up.
"I'm Javier then, but call me Javi! I'm also Argentina," he said sweetly, scooting over closely to Alvaro. He smiled and proceeded to change the subject, because he knew Fernando would most likely try to interrupt them. "How old are you?"
How old was he? God, he didn't remember. "I'm the same age.. As you all.."
Javi giggled. "Aww, so you don't know how to count? We're all.. 5 I think~."
"Idiot. We're not all the same age. I'm the oldest from all of you," Fernando grumbled, rolling his eyes. He shifted around a little and glared at the two.
"Be quiet! You're just mad because Papa Spain told you to stop playing with the hired boy!"
"Not even!"
While the two argued, Alvaro couldn't help but feel.. Happy. Not because of the fighting and bickering from the two boys, but because he felt that he had a chance with Javi now. But to be safe, he'd have to pretend to be 'Blanca'. It wouldn't be easy but.. It would be worth it in the end. Of course, until Javi would find out that Blanca was really Alvaro. Then he'd be in some trouble.
So it went on like that, days passed by, then weeks, then months, finally years.
And they were in love at a young age. They knew they'd be together for a long time. They were young but.. it felt right to be together. Well, at least for Javi. Alvaro still felt weird, having to be a girl everyday because he thought Javi wouldn't like him if he was a boy.. It was stressful too. Since Alvaro was growing, his voice was changing and getting deeper. So it was getting really hard to disguise himself.
It was a little weird between the two now, as well, because a few weeks ago Javi had felt Alvaro's chest, being the pervert he was.. And there was nothing there. And 'she' was pretty old to have nothing there. So from that point on, it was a little awkward between the two.
Well, for Javi at least. Because now he knew Blanca was a boy. Yet he still loved Alvaro, and he decided he would play along with Alvaro's trick.
One day though, their plans with each other would change. When Javi and Alvaro (who was still trying to put up the act of being a girl) were young teenagers, they ran away from Spain to become independent. For a little while, they had peace together. During that time they made plans.
That one day, Fernando came by and told Alvaro he had to take Javi to war with him. "Antonio's getting really angry and it's getting dangerous. You'll have to stay, Blanca. I'm sorry. It's dangerous for a girl."
Alvaro was in shock. "Sexist! I want to go too! I need to go too! Javi, tell him! Tell him I have to go!" Alvaro held his stuffed bear close to his chest. He didn't want to leave Javi to go to war alone. Especially not with the other boy. He wanted to be alongside them to make sure nothing happened. And he was most certain Javi would let him come.
But he did not. "No, I'm sorry Blanca. I have to go by myself. It's not safe for you." Javi's green eyes showed pure sorrow and they filled with tears because he knew what would happen now. They'll be separated, and he may never see his beloved Blanca- no, his beloved Alvaro again. "I'll be okay."
"No! You said whatever happened, you wouldn't leave me!" Alvaro cried, clinging onto Javi's arm with one hand while the other still held on to his bear. "Don't go! At least let me come with you two!"
While he cried, Javi held him in a firm embrace and rested his head on Alvaro's shoulder. "It'll be okay. I'll be back soon enough. When I come back, I'll never leave you again. I promise." He pressed Alvaro closer to himself. "I'm sorry.. Blanca..." he mumbled, running his hair through the younger boy's hair.
Before the two left, Alvaro pleaded enough to make Javi take the bear because Javi had given it to him on his 8th birthday. Such a shy baby face Javi had when he took the bear from Alvaro.
When the two older boys walked -
off, Alvaro was trying his best to not cry and run after them. How he wanted Javier to stay! But he couldn't do anything about it. He could only wait for him to come back.
So years passed. During that time, Alvaro also fought against Antonio and his soldiers. After the fight, he became his own country; Chile as he had called himself before. But before that happened, a drastic event took place.
Right when one of Spain's soldiers realized that they had been defeated, he slammed Alvaro to the ground roughly in a desperate (and useless, because even if he had succeeded the outcome would remain the same) attempt to kill him. The intensity was enough to damage Alvaro's head and bring an alarming amount of mental shock to the small man.
He was struck with almost fatal amnesia. Everything he knew before was wiped out of his mind.
During the time he healed, his own soldiers tried to tell him everything they knew about his life. It took Alvaro a long time to understand everythind and to remember who he was, who he knew, and so many other things.
But they never told him about Javi.
So it was a little startling when Alvaro was greeted with a certain man with blonde hair and lively green eyes. "Is that.. you.. Alvaro?" he had asked, finally feeling comfortable enough to call him by his boy name.. He felt comfortable enough to say proudly that he still liked the boy he had come to know as Blanca.
"Who are you?" Alvaro spat, grabbing the gun from his door and pointing it directly at Javier's head. He had gotten very violent since his recovering. He believed that he needed to kill anyone who put his own life at danger, and Javi was a suspect.
Javier had squealed and put his hands up. "Hey! What do you think you're doing, Alvaro? Put that thing down! You're crazy!"
From that day on, it was war. Not because Javier wanted to, but Alvaro felt he needed to because he thought Javier was harrassing him.
Then on it was rough, and at the end of the war came the words that made Alvaro pledge to never speak again.
"I hate you, you piece of s---! Get out of my f---ing life!"
When he said that, Javier's mouth dropped, his arms went slack, and he stared. His face turned pale. It seemed as though he wasn't going do anything, just stand there.
Then it came. His heart wrenching cries. He dropped to the ground and sobbed, almost throwing a little fit. "You said you'd love me forever, that you'd never let me go...! You lied! I hate you too!" He suddenly looked up at Alvaro, his eyes full of tears and hate. "You hear that? Te odio!" The words were so hard for him to say. He basically choked them out.
Something in Alvaro died. He backed away, his soldiers staring at him as he did so. He felt that blow had caused his own defeat. Though really, in the end they both lost.
So he never spoke after that. He felt he'd screw up his life again if he spoke.
Much conflict happened to the two after that. Border complications almost threw them into war again. Many other things that Chile couldn't even remember caused them to go to war.. Yet the most Javier would hear from Alvaro in all that would be a grunt.
So many years passed by and yet he still didn't speak...
