-
Sorry about silence from me. xD
Name: Kabu
Species: Human
Personality: Loyal, loving, but very violent when he needs to be. Not very wise.
Bio: Kabu is one of the best samurais in the land, but for the sole reason that it's the only thing he can really do in life, because he lost his family at a young age for reasons he can't really remember. Is very dedicated when it comes to duties they give him, and obviously very good with fighting.
Has been busier than ever last few years because of all the danger going around.
Hopefully I did good. xD -
Yay~ :D
We can begin when you both return and when I wake up. -
I'll just start.
Sakura wandered aimlessly through the woods, taking in the rays of the sun and light breeze. It was peaceful here and it was better than being locked inside all day or walking around a noisy town. He said he was going to the market in hopes of finding new jewelry, but that was just a lie so he could get out.
His parents didn't like it when he went outside, and he didn't fully understand why. There were many times where they ordered the guard to keep him inside, and each time he escaped. They've even tried barring his windows, which didn't have much hold because he easily kicked them off and climbed down. He even hid the evidence that he had gotten out. But then they barred like a prison which he was not pleased with.
"It's so nice here...I don't see why I can't just come outside for a little while." He scooped up wildflowers as he walked along, watching for bees and other insects so he doesn't steal their nectar. Although, the bees didn't mind him really, they would glad rest on his kimono for a break and then buzz off. He also made sure not to grab anything poisonous. The last thing he needs is a contagious rash that would make his parents remove his door and replace it with a wall.
But of course, as he's heading back, a guard notices him walk by and gets a hold of him. "You know better than to be in the woods, my lord! You're majesties will know of this." And as usual he's dragged back inside, his parents are informed, then he receives a lecture and is sent to his room for the remainder of the day. -
The roof was his favorite place in the kingdom. Prince Takehiko would go up there and look out over the lands aimlessly, finding such peace when the time of day was most quiet, and the breeze would gently caress his hair. He could forget about the responsibilities of his position and family, and the pressures he was unfortunately born with.
Sometimes, when he was sure he was alone, he'd hum music off the top of his head, and sing in nonsensical tongues. He wanted to learn an instrument of some sort, but his family always said he didn't have the time and he should be focusing on more princely matters, like military and society issues.
There was so much speculation as to when Takehiko would be taking over as lord of his father's land. The lord was very sick and could be gone any day now. Not only did it mean he'd have to assume power, but find a suitable wife whom would then produce another heir. That's all anyone ever worried about; making sure there was another child destined to take on a role they never wanted. It was a continuous cycle since whenever their civilization started. And Takehiko hated it.
"How am I supposed to find a woman I want to spend life with?" He mumbled to himself, then sighed. "I...I don't like any of the petty girls that walk these lands. I never have..." He stopped before he went further into what he would call 'a weird place'. He was a man, and noble man, so of course he was supposed to like women. That shouldn't be up for discussion.
He heard voices from the other side of the courtyards, knowing that his father was asking some guards and servants where he is. Better go back down then... -
His sword showed his dedication to one thing, serving his area. His family was murdered by those dark, evil beings and he had no one else. He never had anyone else but his family. Maybe the other samurai's he had been acquainted with, but no one else. He was alone in this world, if you didn't count his beloved sword he carried around everywhere, not just for protection, but secretly for comfort.
A very loyal person he was. He was rather young when he first committed his life to protecting others. The men laughed at him. They thought he was a silly, scrawny thing that wouldn't even survive the harsh training he would go under. But he proved them wrong. He became one of the best the group had to offer.
And with that incredible title came a price. With it, he began to have a strong blood lust. He began to be highly bloodthirsty, which didn't make him much to be desired. A lot of people, even the people he was required to protect, began to fear him. They weren't the only ones that noticed the change, for he himself also noticed the undesirable urge to murder everything in sight. For that reason he was taken ill for some time. During that time he tried to figure out his life, to sort reality from hallucinations. Soon enough he was back in duty, this time with a different mind set. One that let him not just feel fury towards his enemies, but also, occasionally to show mercy.
During that time he also realized he was rather alone and became pretty attached to an material possession, his sword. Which meant he was going against one of his Buddhist principles, but oh well. It was all he had.
He figured, that maybe, just maybe, one day it will be used to save the love of his life. He mustn't keep his hopes up so high though. He'd already dedicated his life to being a samurai. -
The prince sighed, staring out one of the barred windows. The sky was growing threateningly dark and he didn't like it. He didn't like the loudness of thunder storms. It made his ears ring when anything loud passed through them.
He looked down with just his eyes to see a group of guards running passed his room. He wasn't sure what, but something was going on and he wanted to find out. He hadn't seen anyone that stirred up about anything except his father when he's doing paperwork.
Sakura went to his door and peeked out. The guards were gone. Whatever the commotion is, he was glad it was going on, until he got outside. Building burned althroughout the town. Shops, homes, community places. The reason for the guards' disappearance and the ones he saw running, they were trying to stop this. An attack...
He ran into the woods as he usually would, trying to get away. If it wasn't stopped, then his home was next. He didn't want to die, he wasn't even close to ready to see his parents go either. So he ran, faster than he ever had before. -
Takehiko managed to jump down to a lower roof, and then to the garden. He straightened himself and walked over to where his father and the soldiers were talking. "Take, where have you been?" The king asked sternly. "An attack has just gone underway in a nearby kingdom. We are sending troops to the borders, to ensure our safety. You will go with them."
"Yes, sir." The prince replied to his father, and after exchanging farewells followed the generals to the moving brigade. He hated war, battles and conflict. It was an unavoidable reality in their world though and he had to be diligent. They trekked out over the hills and to the forests of the eastern edges of the kingdom.
Riding a stallion, he helped look out for anything that was out of the ordinary. Everything seemed rather calm, until the sound of footsteps crunching on leaves of the forest floor came from the distance. "Do you here that, sire?" A guard asked, causing Takehiko to nod. "Men, stay cautious and move ahead." -
He stopped at the sound of horses and men ahead. Causing him to run in a different direction. They were probably the attackers, or worse, bandits out looking to steal women. And he looked too much like a female to get out of a situation.
He had heard many stories about what mercenaries and bandits do when they capture town folk or travelers. Women were 'entertainment' and men died, became like servants, or tried to prove they wet worthy enough to join the group. He didn't want to end up as some chief's 'bride' or personal entertainment. He'd want to die, he'd rather die than live that lifestyle.
The prince continued running along, the path ahead becoming more dense with trees, it was darker too, so it'd be hard for him to see where he was going. But still he kept moving, nit bothering to glance back, but alas, his ankle caught in an uproot and he tripped spraining it slightly. "Ngh!" Sakura carefully rose to his feet and tried to move, finding that he couldn't.
(Perhaps Mr. Samurai can capture him and take him to the prince. :3) -
(Yey! :3 I have having WB lol.)
Had he heard.. a yelp? In the middle of the forest?
He figured that he should sneak off. He didn't know if that rustling was an enemy or just a frightened animal. And he wasn't really going to risk the safety of the other samurai.
Kabu then walked quietly, ever so discreetly through the branches and trees trying not to make a sound. His hand held a firm grip on his katana in case of a surprise attack. Of course, he was also trained in fighting with fists, but he felt safer with the weapon. Which was pretty cowardly of him with some extension to the thought.
But when he actually got the source of the noise, it wasn't anything he had suspected. A woman. No, not a woman. A small man, it seemed. To all appearances, he was rather.. feminine to some amount. He had probably injured some part of his leg, because he couldn't walk. So most likely his ankle. He must not have been careful enough while running through the dense area.
Though it seemed like a harmless case, Kabu remained alert. It could be a scam. It could be just the clever thinking of bandits, and he wasn't smart enough to figure when they were trying to outfox him. He approached warily. -
"Do you see anything?" Takehiko asked the squad leaders. "Not exactly, sire. It seems to have gotten further in the distance." "Well, be on alert and watch out, but also keep your eyes on the border." "Yes, sire."
He really wasn't a military man. Mainly he'd take the advice of the generals, making sure it was reasonable. The fact that they were all standing near the edges of the kingdom, waiting for a hidden danger that could kill many men, was honestly a waste of time to Takehiko. Some things were worth killing for, but the wars based on greed and power were despicable.
His mind drifted off to what it usually did, about how it was merely a chance he would be birthed to a royal family, and through that chance he was born with no other choice but this life. People admired and dreamed of becoming a prince or king, but they didn't know how much sacrifice really comes with it.
Take's eyes wandered to a northwest end of the forest, as the trees became thicker. He thought he saw a figure in a white kimono and red sash. How pitiful, a woman getting trapped and lost in the area.
