  • Further to the previous comments, Glasgow Subway is commonly referred both the underground and the subway (it has officially been branded as both) and IS a metro system. And given that Charing Cross station is East of the M8, it can also be considered in the city centre. Very poor.

  • You are 35% Weegie 35%

no bad, no bad you can stay awhile longer tae see if you can learn a wee bit more about this wonderful city.

I only live 6 hours away but I hardly know anything about Glasgow. Also the title should be "How Glaswegian are you?", because it doesn't really make any sense.

  • Some errors in the questions. Such as the actual oldest building in Glasgow (by a substantial amount) - Glasgow Cathedral, not even being an option. I rather think you might have meant "oldest house" with that one. Other than these minor things, good quiz. Glad I "passed"!

  • 95% weegie .. I guess I did a lot, during the couple months I was there. I know I did a lot of drinking. To quote Robin Williams, "For a true linguistic adventure, go drinking with a Scotsman ... 'cause you can hardly f---ing understand them before!" He's mostly true on that. However, I have discovered, the more you drink, the more they make sense!

  • And it's origins are simply that originally carbonated drinks were sold by chemists as medicinal remedies, and the first ones sold were "ginger" beers/ales!

  • Glasgow doesn't mean dear green place. That's folk etymology. It means green hollow, coming from /glas cou/ in a Brythonic language.
