Or at least got into sports later than I did. I was really artsitic when I was younger, and I kind of wish I had followed that more. I've basically decided that if I ever have a son, I don't want him to like sports, and I'm not going to try and bond with him over sports. I'd rather my kid be a great artist or a great writer than a great athlete. And if my genetics bare strongly on the kid, there's no way he'll be a great athlete. He'll be average at best. You know those parents who squash creativity and force their kids to play football? I'll basically be the opposite, I guess.

If it were me, i would want my kid to do whatever he/ she is interested in. I, personally, really like sports. If i had a son i would sign him up for soccer or baseball when he's little, and if he wants to persue it he can, but if he wants to quit he can. That goes the same with a girl. If i had a daughter i would sign her up for soccer, gymnastics or softball or stuff like that, and if she wants to quit or persue it its up to her. I would also encourage them to be artistic though. I guess i would like them to be well rounded. However, i wouldnt force them to do anything against their will. I love creativity. And if i would want them to do a sport, i definately would not want to force them to do football. I hate american football. Soccer, or brittish football, is better

I want my kid to do what he/she loves doing.
If I see them develop a love for coloring, then I'll sign em up for art. If I see that they love that stuffed pony and pony poster, I'll give em horse back riding lessons.
It all depends on what the kid is into. I personally don't follow sports, I'm more creative and artsy. -
Is it normal to be creative and have passion for sports? I don't call myself an "uncreative" person, but I also really enjoy sports. Maybe you can reconsider the whole art thing, because I don't think it's ever too late.
