WolfLove NoviceDo you think I should sign up for the football league in my county? Its the 11-13 league. Its not a girls team, of course, cause they really dint have those. I wanna be the kicker or defensive back.
-
I saw you already went but.... you could still tryout if your good enough (which you probably are) you will make it, I think thats how it works.
-
cheychey Newbiewell im a girl and i played football for the watetown cyclones and i played linebacker and defensive tackle. girls can play football.
-
WolfLove Novice:) I knowz
-
Do you mean soccer? There is no "kicker" in soccer, but yes, there is defense.
What you do is find out a local club league and just give them a call. I wouldn't suggest you joining now because then you'll have to pay and then, get like what? Half the games? Better to join next season, because there are usually 5-8 people dropping out every season.
Pretty sure you have to do the tryouts, otherwise you just pay and you're in.
If you don't mean soccer, then it's the same with football, I guess.
Sorry for confusion, because in UK they call soccer football, and sometimes in other countries they call soccer soccer...
Also, just to add, there are all-boys team on Saturdays with the mixed ones, both girls and boys, and the all-girls one is on Sunday. You pick.
Just give the club a call or e-mail. -
@kristine She's talking about American football, a mainly male dominated sport.
I say go for it. If you want to do it and gain the physical strength, go kick some ass, girl! >:D -
Yes, same as American Football. Just replace the words "soccer" and "football" in my post to "American Football" and you'll get the general picture ;)
-
WolfLove NoviceNoooo! I mean there is so a kicker. At least that's what I think. The one who makes field goals. And punt's. And there are only boys teams for football in my county.
-
WolfLove NoviceAnd I am doing the evaluation tryouts soon.
-
Sorry, I was busy creating pointless quizzes :$ so I had to shy away from the forums for a while.
Okay, American Football, yeah, there is a kicker. I was talking about soccer, because that's what I thought you meant, since you said "football".
Now, if you're doing the evaluation tryouts, then yeah, go for it. Just make sure to practice and work hard and you'll get what you want.
But I don't understand of how there is an only-boys team in your country and you're still trying out?
But anyway, good luck at the evaluation tryouts. -
Ugh! I mean literally no girls ever try out, that's why I am!!
-
You should really keep your cool and keep your temper long otherwise no one will be bothering to help you at all.
If no girls ever try out, but they actually LET girls tryout, and if you really want to, then go for it... honestly, what's pulling you back? Are you scared you'll be the only girl there? lol I'm the only girl on my soccer team that I play for and I'm captain!! If you still not sure, then call the tryout people up and say, "Hi, I'm a __ year old girl who wants to tryout for this team. I need to know _______________. Can you please help me?" and they'll get it from there.
Anyway, if you are already signed up to tryout, then yeah, good luck and just go for it... -
And FYI there are girl American Footballers.

Maybe it's just around your state that hardly any girls tryout for the team, but believe me, there are a fair lot in the whole of America.
And just to give you advice, make sure you practice before the tryouts because some people don't even get picked!! You need to know a lot of things about the game, otherwise screw trying to make it. I'm not trying to be mean but I've witnessed my friends trying out for a sport team and they don't get picked into the team.
So, what's holding you up if you're trying out?? GO.FOR.IT. -
I have evaluations tommorow. And sorry, I flipped. And no, hardly any girls sign up for football. And yes, I'll probably be the only girl. And I think I have a chance, because my friend, who was the quarterback for 4 years is helping me.
