ooks. Isn't that kind of a warning that people shouldn't be fishing by the shore?

Simple solution: Don't leave hooks on the shore.
-
If it was that simple it would be fine. There are a lot of fishermen that fish at the shore, and they can't keep track of all of their hooks. (ex. It breaks off somehow and floats off, gets stuck in fish's mouth and comes out later, etc. etc.) I am not blaming them, because hey, they want to fish as much as we want to swim. I just think that they should fish in designated spots for fishermen. Though it may not be illegal to fish at the beach, leaving dangerous pieces of metal where people go to have a little fun is a bit...meh. Plus, it is leaving a bad name for NJ Fishermen.

Could you pretty please f---ing stop with the penguin?

I've cut my feet on shells that have washed up on the beach many times. There are also many other debris objects in the water outside of fishing hooks.
-
The only reason I have a problem with the hooks is that they don't belong there. People know that there is going to be shells, but they shouldn't have to worry about stepping on a hook and getting it stuck in their foot. Plus, those things are damn hard to get out considering they are curved in such a way. Then, of course, comes disinfecting and cleaning the wound, stitches if needed, and bandages or even a cast. It is just reallu unfair for a beach-goer.
