‘Are you close with them or anything?’

Lavender gave a so-so hand gesture. "We all work at the bakery, but other than that, not so much."

‘Fair enough. Do you have any hobbies?’

Lavender shrugged. "I read. I try to make friends."

‘Try?’

"It doesn't work most of the time. Most people don't stay in my town long. Either that or they're too old to want to talk to someone my age."

‘Oh, right. I get that,’ Maeve said.

Lavender nodded.

Maeve played with Lavender’s hand. -
Lavender blushed, letting her with a grin.

Maeve blushed at her blushing.

Lavender chuckled.

Maeve grinned dorkily.

Lavender grinned. "You're very happy today." She thought out loud.
