“That’s fair,” Evan nodded. “Are they like, electric? Or do you just use your weight, or something?”

“I just use my weight, push down on the gas and brake pedals,” Connor replied with another nod. “I thought it would be kinda different, honestly, but it’s not really anything complicated-“

“Huh, okay,” Evan nodded. “How do the joints work? Are they just- willy nilly?”

“No, then I wouldn’t be able to walk,” Connor said, chuckling softly. “Although, if I’m being honest, I dunno how they work-“

“Pfft- real, honestly,” Evan said with a chuckle.

“I do have different prosthetics for different things- I used to do track for my school, so I have a different pair for running,” Connor said, rubbing the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb.

“Oo- yeah, is it the the kinda- like, L-shaped lookin ones?” Evan said, turning his head to look at Connor.

“Mhm,” Connor hummed in response, nodding as he kept his gaze on the road.

“That’s cool,” Evan said, smiling softly as he admired Connor. “Do those make you go faster or do they weigh you down?”

“I’d say it’s about the same as if I had normal legs,” Connor replied, glancing at Evan for a moment. “Sometimes it’s hard to run in them since they kind of hurt my legs, especially if I’ve been wearing prosthetics for a while.”

“Oh, so your prosthetics aren’t comfortable?” Evan asked, furrowing his brows.

“Eh, I mean- It’s metal, so not entirely?” Connor said, chuckling softly. “Most of the time it doesn’t hurt at all, like I barely notice I’m wearing them, but if I don’t take breaks or wear them for long periods of time, they definitely start to hurt a bit,” he added, nodding.

“Huh, okay,” Evan nodded. “That makes sense-“

“It’s nothing I can’t handle, though,” Connor said with a chuckle, gently squeezing Evan’s hand. They soon arrived at his house and he pulled into the driveway, parking the car.

“Good,” Evan smiled softly, climbing out of the car and studying his house for a moment. “Your house is so nice-“
