"No! I'm not leaving-" "Sam, I'll be fine," Clay spoke, resting a hand on his sister's shoulder. "I don't want you to get in trouble, either." Sam's expression softened when she looked at her brother and she sighed, nodding and leaving. "As for where George is, that really is none of your business," he said, trying to keep a steady voice as he looked over at his mother.
-
“Why isn’t it?” His mother asked, crossing her arms.
-
"Because it's my relationship, and I don't give a s--- if you don't approve of it," Clay retorted, gaining some confidence. "He's my boyfriend, and I love him."
-
“You don’t care?” She said, glaring at him. “Oh, you’re gonna care when I get him fired and you never see him again-“
-
"Like I'll let that f---ing happen," Clay spoke, furrowing his brows.
-
“You really think you can do anything?” She said with a scoff, glaring at Clay. “You have no choice in the matter-“ “Yes, he does,” his dad said, coming in the room. “As you said, he’s the heir to this kingdom, so why wouldn’t he?”
-
Clay looked over, exhaling with relief when he saw his dad. "Plus, he is my boyfriend, so-"
-
“And it’s his life- we won’t be in control anymore when he’s king, and I’d like to be in his good favor, wouldn’t you?” The king said, moving over to Clay as the queen struggled for something to say.
-
Clay nodded, glancing over at his father and mouthing thank you.
-
His father nodded, clapping his shoulder. “So, what do you have to say for yourself?” “I think it’s disgusting, what you’re supporting, Jared.”
-
"And I think it's disgusting you can't even support your own child," Clay spoke, glaring at his mother.

“Oh, you think I don’t have any power? What is this? The 17th century??” She said as the front door open and George was dragged in by some gaurds.
-
"George- Let him go, Mom!" Clay shouted, panic rising in him.
-
“No! I’m okay, I might get a bruise on my wrist, but I’m fine, I promise,” George said, twining their fingers together. “Jared-“ “No, I’m serious, Cassidy, go! Go live with your sister, or something- we’re done.”
-
Clay exhaled with relief, gently squeezing George's hand. "Good, good," he murmured softly, a small smile on his face.
