“Are you okay?” George whispered, glancing at his arguing parents behind them.

"Yeah, just- trying to keep myself from combusting," Clay said softly, chuckling nervously. "Whether it's from nerves or anger, though, I can't tell-"

“Probably both,” George said with a chuckle, squeezing Clay’s hands.

Clay chuckled softly, nodding. "Yeah, probably," he murmured softly, leaning forward and pressing his forehead against George's. "God, I- I did not want this to happen this way..."

“Howd you want it to happen?” George asked softly.

"I- I dunno," Clay muttered, exhaling softly. "I mean, I would've liked to tell everyone we were dating on our own terms, instead of getting outed-"

“Oh- yeah, fair,” George said with an awkward chuckle. “I mean- we don’t have to hide anymore!”

"Yeah, that's- that's true," Clay said, chuckling softly as he lifted his head to admire George.

“See? I told you it’d work out,” George said with a smile, admiring Clay. “Uh- kids- as- well, it’s nice to formally meet you, George, but um- I think I’m gonna go to my room,” The king said, a confused and slightly upset look on his face.

Clay nodded, looking over at his father for a moment before turning back to George. "Wanna go to my room? I- I need to lay down," he said, chuckling softly.

“Yeah! Yeah, let’s go,” George nodded, letting go of one of Clay’s hands and squeezing the other.

Clay smiled and nodded, squeezing George's hand back and heading to his room.

“Man, this is weird,” George chuckled as they walked through the halls.

"Yeah, the not sneaking around and stuff- Really weird," Clay said, chuckling softly as he leaned against George's side. "Kind of nice, though, too~"

“Yeah, I could get used to this~” George said with a chuckle.
