Karl yawned softly, now almost asleep in Nick’s arms -
Nick shut the laptop once the movie was done, sensing and praying and hoping that Karl was asleep. He moved the laptop onto the desk next to his bed, turning slightly to hold Karl.

Karl curled closer into Nick’s arms, yawning softly. He buried his face in the ravenette’s chest, humming softly with content.

“Are you asleep?” Nick dared to ask in the quietest whisper he knew, rubbing Karl’s back.

“Mm, almost,” Karl murmured with a tired giggle, curling closer to Nick. He yawned softly, tilting his head to the side. “Do you want me to be asleep?”

“Mm, kinda,” Nick said softly. “Just so you wouldn’t have to worry about stuff.”

Karl yawned and nodded, keeping his eyes shut. “I’m sorry dinner was kinda a bust,” he murmured, exhaling shakily. “I didn’t think she’d be home so soon from her work trip and-“

“I know, it’s okay,” Nick whispered. “I honestly had more fun laying around with you and watching Toy Story.”

Karl smiled a little, nodding. “I just knew my dad wanted to see you more- I think he really likes the fact that we’re dating,” he said, giggling softly.

“Really? Okay, I’m so glad because I was so worried about that-“ Nick said with a. chuckle, blowing out a small breath.

“No, no, he definitely likes you~” Karl replied, giggling softly as he hugged Nick closer. “He definitely likes that you’re in nursing school and learning to become one- I think he’s worried about me ‘n stuff…”

“Yeah, I think a lot of people are worried for you, Karl,” Nick said softly, rubbing his back. “But yeah, I’m glad he likes me.”

Karl nodded again, exhaling softly. “I just, feel kinda bad,” he murmured, hugging Nick closer. “I shouldn’t have to have people watching over me and- and making sure I eat, I’m just- wasting their time…”

“What? No- Karl, you just- I don’t mind helping you,” Nick said softly, holding Karl close. “It’s not your fault you have this- and you’re worth helping, y’know?”
