Mason blushed lightly, but the nickname “dude” somewhat killed the mood. He chuckled. ‘You have maths, right?’ He’d memorised Chris’s schedule.

“Yeah, which totally sucks ass,” Chris muttered, sighing. “What do you have again, chem? History?”

Mason smiled. ‘That’s fair. I have English,’ he said.

“Damn, I wish I had English instead of Maths,” Chris said, sighing and wrapping an arm around Mason’s shoulder. “I’d so totally skip, but y’know- Don’t have a ride-“

Mason blushed, stiffening slightly in surprise but letting him. ‘We could skip together, if you like.’ He couldn’t believe he had said that. He’d never skipped.

“Hell yeah, dude, let’s do it!” Chris said, smiling. “Have you ever skipped before? No shame if you haven’t, it’s not for everyone~”

Mason smiled slightly. ‘Of course I’ve skipped before, who hasn’t-‘ he lied, chuckling.

“Y’know I know you’re lying, right?” Chris said, chuckling as he gently squeezed Mason’s arm with his hand. “We’re best friends, it’s kind of obvious.”

Mason rolled his eyes. ‘C’mon,’ he said, grabbing Chris’s hand and leading him away from the lockers.

Chris chuckled and followed Mason, gently squeezing his hand for a moment.

Mason blushed, glancing at him for a moment, before looking down.

“I’m kinda craving ice cream- Dude, we should so get ice cream, maybe from Chick-Fil-A?” Christopher suggested, moving to walk in pace with Mason at his side. He gently pulled his hand back, sticking them in the pockets of his jeans. “s---, now I want waffle fries, too~”

Mason chuckled, glancing down at their hands as he let go. ‘We can get Chick-Fil-A.’

“Yess- I’ll pay, though, don’t worry~” Chris said with a smile, glancing over at Mason. “I mean, it’s the least I can do for you, since you’re driving~”

‘Nah, it’s okay, I’ll pay,’ Mason offered, ruffling Chris’ hair.
