"I know, I know, and I'm sorry," Chris said, nodding. "It- it was just a suggestion, anyways, I- I wouldn't force you to let me help or anything, promise." He sighed, looking away. "I guess I still feel really bad for how I ended things, I- I feel like I have t-to make it up to you..."

‘I already said it’s fine,’ Mason mumbled, resting his head on his chest.

"I know, I'm just nervous, I guess- Overthinking things, like normal," Chris murmured, exhaling softly.

'Yeah,' Mason mumbled, focusing on the TV. 'It's okay, really. I just don't want you to think I have some sob story.'

"I know you don't have a sob story, I wouldn't have thought you did even if you accepted my offer," Chris said, holding Mason close. "I just- still feel bad, I guess..."

'I know. I-I just don't know how to explain it.'

"That's fine," Chris replied, smiling a little at Mason. "You don't owe me an explanation- or anything, for that matter."

'Mmkay,' Mason mumbled.

Chris hummed softly, holding Mason close and rubbing his back. "I love you," he whispered softly, kissing the side of his head.

Mason gave a small smile, leaning into his touch. 'Okay,' he mumbled.

Chris turned his attention back to the TV, watching the movie as he rubbed Mason's back.

Mason relaxed against him.

Chris hummed softly with content, kissing the top of Mason's head with a soft smile.

Mason let him, blushing lightly.

Chris yawned softly, hugging Mason closer.
