Mason climbed into his car and rubbed his face with his hands, exhaling deeply. He sighed and started the car, backing out of Chris's driveway.

Chris climbed out of his dad’s car, saying goodbye as he walked i to the school. He headed over to his locker and saw Mason, a smile appearing on his face. “Mason, hey!”

Mason glanced over at him, face lighting up. 'Hey.'

“You sleep well last night?” Chris asked with a smile, moving over to his locker and opening it.

Mason shrugged. 'Kind of,' he said with a chuckle, following him. 'You?'

“I slept great- Well, the nap earlier was probably better, honestly,” Chris spoke with a quiet chuckle, grabbing a few books from his locker.

Mason chuckled, blushing lightly. ‘And why was that~’

“I dunno, honestly-“ Chris shrugged, but he could kind of guess why. It had something to do with Mason, but he didn’t know exactly why.

Chris hummed softly as he opened his backpack, stuffing his books inside. “Well, I found out that the scrimmage is being moved up, so it’s this week on Friday- In like, two days.” -

'Alright. Is that good or bad?' Mason asked, leaning against the locker. -
“Both? I have to convince my boss to let me off work that day since it’s been moved,” Chris said, sighing as he shut his locker.

'Ah, that's true. Maybe call in sick or something,' Mason said.
