“Because your inventions are potentially dangerous to society, blah blah blah, I need to take you out before you destroy the world, etcetera etcetera,” Adrienne said, waving the gun around for a moment before pointing it back at Naomi’s head. “So let’s make this easier for the both of us, and shut the f--- up.”

Naomi looked at her in horror. "What? I'm not dangerous, I promise." She bit her tongue before she could beg to not be shot again, knowing they definitely wouldn't care in the slightest. "D-don't I get a trial or something?"

“Unfortunately, no,” Adrienne said in a feigned voice of pity, a fake pouty face on her face before returning to a blank stare. She kept the gun pointed at Naomi’s head, her hand beginning to shake. f---, why- why do I not want to do this? Why is this so hard?! This- this never happens to me! “Now- Now shut up and- and let me kill you-“

Naomi, of course, did not shut up. If her still talking meant it was harder to shoot her, so be it. "Why should I? Shouldn't I get some sort of last words before you kill me?"

“GOD, just shut up!” Adrienne shouted, dropping her hand in frustration. “f---, dude, why is this so f---ing hard?!” She groaned, putting her gun back in her holster. “Look, if you don’t let me kill you, my own life will be at stake, okay?? So just make this easy and like, let me shoot you- Or better yet, just do it yourself!”

Naomi tried not to smile, figuring it'd only motivate the killer to shoot them even more. "Well I'm not about to shoot myself just because someone broke into my room and told me to. Besides, why should I care about your life if you're trying to end mine?" She shrugged. "Seems a little unfair, don't you think?"

Adrienne growled angrily, throwing her hands up in the air. “Because I’ll be a dead woman if I don’t! My actual life is on the line, that’s how being a f---ing assassin works!” She groaned, slumping to the ground and covering her face with her arms. “I don’t know why, but I- I just can’t do it…”

"And I'm a dead woman if you do! That's how being f---ing murdered works!" Naomi snapped, not feeling as scared now that she knew that they couldn't shoot her. She had her hand on her pocket where her phone was, pressing the off button and the volume buttons at the same time so she could call the cops.

“I’m sorry,” Adrienne murmured, exhaling softly. “I- I don’t want to kill you, really, I-“ She groaned, rubbing her face with her hands. “I’m sorry, I can just- I can just leave,” she added with a sigh, standing to her feet. “I never wanted this f---ing job, anyways…”

"What do you mean, you don't want to kill me? You seemed very eager to just a moment ago." Naomi kept glancing at the gun, not wanting to be surprised when she pulled it out.

“b----, please, do you think any sane person would do this out of their own will?” Adrienne said, rolling her eyes. “I’m like, basically being forced to do this so survive. If I don’t do this, I, one, will lose any source of money, and two, will lose my life. But I don’t want to kill you, like- You’re a f---in’ genius, dude-“

Naomi raised an eyebrow. "Please, genius? Way to lay it on thick so you can try to surprise me when you kill me."

“No, dude, I’m being serious,” Adrienne said, exhaling softly. She pulled out her phone, pulling up an image of a blue print and showing it to Naomi. “You see this? You- you made these blue prints, for like, a f---ing life saving invention, and- and people are gonna try and steal that s--- and- and turn it into like, a nuclear weapon or something-“

Naomi saw the photo, eyebrows scrunching up in confusion. "How d'you know all that?"

“I- f---, I- It’s a long story, but I-“ Adrienne groaned angrily, tugging at her hair with her hands. “If I don’t get rid of you, either your invention will get stolen, or someone else will kill you instead!”
