"The you can be my moral support- Or emotional support, whichever one is needed first," Briar said, giggling quietly.
-
Lawrence chuckled, rubbing his shoulder with his thumb. ‘Sounds good~’
-
Briar giggled softly, pressing another kiss on Lawrence's cheek. They soon arrived in town and carriage stopped, the door opening. Briar reluctantly pulled away from Lawrence and stepped out, climbing out of the carriage. He was quickly greeted by the construction crew and their captain, bombarding him with their own questions. He exhaled softly and began answering them as best he could, waiting for Lawrence to climb out before following them to the build sites.
-
Lawrence looked around as he followed Briar. He wanted to grab the other man’s hand badly. Lawrence looked around the build site, remaining quiet.
-
Briar was pulled into a conversation with the head of the construction team, a whirlwind of voices swirling. "Okay, okay! One at a time!" The young king exclaimed, stopping the group. "Reginald, what is the estimation of when you think the hostels, the brewery and the blacksmith will be finished?" "The hostels and inns should be finished in less than a month, the brewery in just over two months, and- Well, the smithy is rather hard to put a pin in, but we're guessing around three, possibly four months?" The man spoke, showing off the blueprints of the builds. "That doesn't sound too terrible- Is there really no way to direct the flow of carriages and horse traffic so there's no disruptions with construction or injuries to citizens passing by?"
-
Lawrence didn’t entirely know what do to with himself as the other men spoke. He hadn’t done this for a while. He shifted his weight from foot to foot, looking around.
-
“From what we’ve come up with, sire, not many-“ Briar nodded, moving away from the group for a moment and walking over to one of the cleared out plots of land. He hummed softly, thinking for a moment.
-
Lawrence followed him like a puppy.
-
Briar glanced over at Lawrence, smiling at him for a moment. He turned back, his gaze moving from the roadways, to the plots of land, and back to the roads. “Hm, I suppose we could block of the sections near the plots, but that may just worsen the problem.”
-
Lawrence smiled back. 'Why don't you just clear space for new roads? It's only a few spots, maybe make signs for detours.'
-
“We do need to work on expanding the roads-“ Briar turned and looked back at the construction captain, walking over to him. “Is there any possible way to postpone the build production of the inns and the other buildings to work on road expansion, or do these need to get up immediately?”
-
Lawrence listened to them talk.
-
“I suppose so, yes, but the inns do need to get build as soon as possible,” the captain answered, nodding. “Then I suggest get a start on the hostels, while having another crew work on expanding the roads. And- Yes, and we temporarily block off the roads in that section while both are being worked on.” The captain nodded, going off to relay the information to the crew.
-
Lawrence looked at Briar with a small smile. 'You're hot when you're working, just so you know,' he said quietly, so the workers wouldn't hear him.
-
Briar blushed red, giggling softly. “You’re pretty adorable yourself, following me around like a lost puppy~”
