Clay took the half eaten bag of Lays he’d grabbed and opened it, grabbing a few and eating them. “Are you actually gonna like, hang out with those girls?” He asked bluntly, coming off a bit rude when he didn’t mean to. “I- I don’t mean like, you shouldn’t- Like, you do whatever you want, I was just- just wondering.”
-
George shrugged, glancing off to the side. “I mean, I might as well, right? I wanna meet people and go to a bunch of parties here. It’s kind of the reason I came. And they seem like an easy way to get there, y’know?”
-
“I guess, just- Don’t get too comfortable around them? I used to be like, really tight-knit with their group, and- s--- goes down, that’s all I’m gonna say,” Clay said with a shrug, eating a few more chips. “Kind of why I don’t like them. Not a great crowd, if you know what I mean.”
-
George shrugged, looking back at Clay. “Alright. I mean, I don’t really care what goes down, because I’m not staying here permanently.”
-
“I guess that’s true,” Clay replied with a chuckle, nodding. “Just don’t leave a mess for me to have to deal with~”
-
George shrugged, giggling quietly as he ate another cracker. “No promises~” he said, looking off to the side again where the sliding glass door was.
-
Clay chuckled, watching George for a moment. “Ooh, you wanna go sit outside fora bit? We’ve got a big ol hammock and porch swing out back,” he suggested, walking over to the sliding glass door.
-
“Sure, but I call the big ol’ hammock!” George said, the last part in a mocking voice. He giggled quietly as he stood, heading to the sliding door and opening it. “Where is it?”
-
“Uh, no you don’t- My house, my hammock,” Clay joked, slipping past George and running over to the hammock that swung between two large trees in the back of the backyard.
-
George’s jaw dropped jokingly, and he stared at Clay as he ran over. He stayed by the sliding door, waiting for Clay to turn around again before sliding it shut and pretending to walk away.
-
“George, come back!” Clay said with a laugh when he turned, smiling. “We can share the hammock, I mean- It’s pretty big!”
-
“f--- off, I wanted to take a nap!” George said, pulling the door open again.
-
“You can nap out here!” Clay called out, chuckling. “Seriously, the hammock’s a great place to nap- I do it all the time~”
(they should cuddle- i mean whaaaat? who said thaaaaaaat??) -
“I believe it is!” George called, crossing his arms. “I don’t want all your American cooties!”
(whaaaat that’s crazyyy) -
“Well, I don’t want your British cooties, but at least I’m being mature and allowing you to use my hammock~” Clay joked, chuckling as he sat down on the hammock. “C’mon, just come over here and lay down, there’s plenty of room for two people on here!”
