"Mm, yeah, I guess that's true- But still."
-
"I understand I am allowed to complain. It's all part of a healthy mindset... Usually." Octavia said she could think of examples where the mindset was not particularly healthy, but it wasn't a big thing
-
Adrienne nodded, watching Octavia for a moment with a small, tired smile. "I get that, yeah~"
-
Octavia took out a sunset bookmark with some inspirational quote on it and saved her place in her boring book.
-
Adrienne yawned, burying their face in their arms. "'M so tired..."
-
"you ought to take a nap. Too bad the bell rings soon." Octavia said, looking at the old analog clock on the wall.
-
"Ugh, I don't want to go to class," Adrienne whined, lifting their head. "I might just skip, go back home-"
-
"you could probably tell your parents how tired you are and get checked out of school." Octavia said. she closed her pencil case and set it back in her bag.
-
"Eh, they're always out working. Which is why I'm always so tired," Adrienne replied, shrugging. "Have to watch my siblings after they get home from school, all three of them."
-
"that's a lot of children to be watching by yourself. Why do your parents make you look after them like that?" Octavia said. It was very unfair in her mind.
-
"Well, they have bills to pay so they have to work more," Adrienne said, shrugging. "I mean, I love my siblings and I love looking after them, but it's- it's tiring, doing it almost every day," they added, yawning halfway through their sentence.
-
"being an unpaid babysitter is difficult for most people. Children are not great listeners." Octavia said. As she already had her bag in her lap she started rolling up the straps of her backpack.
-
"Yeah, but they're my siblings, so I've got no other choice," Adrienne replied, chuckling tiredly.
-
"I think there should be some choice. What happens when your at my tutoring sessions? Are they home alone? Octavia said.
-
"No, two of them are still in school, since they conveniently have sports or theatre stuff," Adrienne replied, the tiredness in her voice growing more prominent. "And my youngest sister goes to daycare, so she's taken care of until I get back."
