Evan nodded, wincing a little and grabbing Connor’s hand and moving it off his stomach onto his hip. He leaned onto his boyfriend as they walked inside, sliding his shoes off once they got inside.
-
“I was starting to wonder where you were, Con-“ Hannah spoke with a smile, poking her head out of the kitchen. Her smile quickly faded and she gasped, seeing Evan. “Oh my God- What happened to you, hun?” She asked, walking over and gingerly grabbing his hand. “Ryder happened, that’s what,” Connor muttered, anger in his voice.
-
“Yeah, they beat me up,” Evan said weakly, avoiding eye contact and continuing to lean against Connor. “They sent someone to occupy Connor and dragged me off.”
-
Connor gently held Evan close, exhaling softly. “God, someone’s going to end up dead one day because of them,” Hannah muttered as she walked back into the kitchen, grabbing a first aid kit. “Connor, bring him into the living room,” she said, poking her head out of the kitchen. Connor nodded and walked Evan into the living room, helping him sit down.
-
“They tried this time,” Evan said with a pained chuckle to Hannah’s muttering, following Connor and carefully sitting down.
-
“The administration and I need to have a talk, then, because that is not okay- Especially if it happened on school property,” Hannah said with a sigh, walking over to the couch. She moved the coffee table back a little and crouched onto the ground, moving in front of Evan and opening up the kit. She began pulling out bandages and disinfectants, starting by cleaning up the cuts on the brunette’s face. Connor watched from Evan’s side, resting a hand on his leg.
-
Evan sucked in a breath, flinching away slightly before forcing himself to relax. “Thanks, Hannah, I really appreciate you doing this-“
-
“Anytime, hun,” Hannah spoke with a small smile, putting a band-aid over one of the cuts on his cheek. “I just hope you haven’t broken anything, you just got your cast off and I’m sure you don’t want another one put on.
-
Evan scoffed quietly, trying to hide how the action sent a wave of pain through his torso. “Yeah, that would suck.”
-
Hannah continued cleaning up the cuts and gently putting band-aids over them, moving to his arms and cleaning them. “You don’t mind if I check under your shirt, do you? Just want to make sure there’s no major wounds I need to clean up,” she spoke, grabbing another disinfectant wipe. “And Connor, can you grab me an ice pack or two for Evan?” Connor nodded and stood, heading into the kitchen.
-
“Yeah, that’s fine,” Evan said quietly, nodding and watching Connor leave with a frown.
-
Connor came back into the living room, handing one of the ice packs to Evan. “You feeling better?” He asked softly, resting his hand back on his leg.
-
Evan took the ice pack, gently pressing it up to his neck. “Not really,” he muttered, looking up at Connor. “That ice cream was good, though.”
-
“That’s good to hear,” Connor replied with a soft chuckle, leaning over and gently kissing his cheek. He handed the other ice pack to Evan, watching him for a moment.
-
Evan gave him a weak smile, leaning against him. He waited for Hannah to finish looking at his torso before pressing the ice pack to his stomach.
