(thats fair lol
im still tired from camp too hehe)
Evan nodded, leaning a little against Connor. “Yeah, but can we leave it and go in your car?” he asked quietly. -
(my dad made me so yard work, but it’s f---ing 95 degrees outside and i’m literally exhausted from our trip
and ofc he doesn’t have to do it bc he has work- i mean, he does do all the yard work most the time, but like- i’m so f---ing exhausted T^T)
“Yeah, of course,” Connor replied with a nod, carefully wrapping his arm around Evan the best he could with the bag on his arm. “I wouldn’t want you driving in- in your condition anyways,” he murmured, gently rubbing his boyfriend’s arm. He walked over to his car and pulled out his keys, unlocking it and opening the door for Evan. He opened the back door and tossed the bags in, getting into the driver’s seat. -
(dang im sorry about that :(
i bet the lawn looks fabulous tho ✨)
Evan thanked him quietly, wincing slightly as he sat down. He wrapped his somewhat untouched arm around his stomach, taking a shaky breath. He waited a few moments for Connor to start driving before speaking up again. “Where were you?” He whispered weakly, trying not to seem accusatory as he glanced over to his boyfriend. -
(it’s not even done yet- i came inside bc i thought i was gonna f---ing pass out :’)
and now everyone’s making me feel like s--- for not coming back out and helping-
but like, i said i would do it later when it’s not NINETY FIVE f---ING DEGREES OUTSIDE-)
“I was in the locker room, and- and I was about to come find you, but then Nick started talking to me, a-and he wanted to go get lunch, but-“ Connor paused, buckling up. “f---, they totally tried to get him to get me to leave the school, didn’t they?” -
(oh yikes :’
im sorry about that, but im glad you came n took a break, bc that sounds rlly hard :’)
“Yeah, seems like it,” Evan said, glancing out the window as he shifted around, trying to get comfortable. “God- I thought they were gonna kill me, Connor. One tried to strangle me,” he said weakly, bringing a shaking hand up to his neck to rub over the fingerprint-sized bruises towards the back of his neck. -
(srsly, and like- everything hurts from walking around the theme park and wearing a big ol bag with our stuff in it, so like-)
“Jesus Christ- Baby, we have to tell someone- anyone! Get them suspended or something! Or arrested, like-“ Connor exhaled shakily, gripping onto the steering wheel as if it were the only thing keeping him from drowning in his anxious thoughts. “That’s like, borderline homicide-“ He tried to take deep breaths, his heart pounding in his chest as he held back tears. Get your s--- together, Connor- You’ve got to keep it together, for him- -
(oh yikes that’ll do it lol)
“Connor, breathe,” Evan said, glancing over to him and waiting a beat for him to breathe. “But like- I’m alive! I don’t want to be that kid, y’know, that ruined someone else’s life just because of some stupid thing they did in high school. I don’t want to be problematic-“ -
(yep :’)
like, my legs are so sore and my shoulder blades hurt really bad T^T)
“They tried to f---ing kill you, Evan!” Connor exclaimed, tears beginning to roll down his face. “If he had the intention of killing you, you- you need to press charges, or something!” He exhaled shakily, furiously rubbing his eyes. He slumped back in his seat, letting out a choked sob. “I- I could’ve lost you- I cannot lose you, Evan. You’re literally the only thing keeping me from drowning…” -
(im so sorry :’’)
Evan flinched a little, tears rolling down his face. “Yeah, okay. I’ll do something.” He paused, taking a few shaky breaths. “Can we get ice cream or something? My throat really hurts.” He mumbled, feeling stupid and selfish as he stared at the dash board in front of him. -
“I- Yeah, we- w can get ice cream,” Connor murmured, pulling out of the parking lot. “I- I’m sorry for yelling, I- I’m just scared, for you- You almost f---ing died, and I- I can’t lose you…”
-
“It’s okay, I understand,” Evan said softly, starting to pick at the drying blood on his arm.
-
Connor glanced over at Evan, offering his hand to the brunette. “I really am sorry,” he murmured, driving away from the school. “And, I- I’m so sorry you got hurt, I- I should’ve been with you. I wanted to, but I wasn’t quick enough…”
-
“It’s okay,” Evan whispered, giving his still shaky hand to Connor. “Please don’t blame yourself, it’s not your fault.
-
“It sure as hell feels like it is,” Connor murmured, rubbing the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb as he drove.
-
“Did you directly get them to do it?” Evan asked quietly, glancing over at him.
