Connor froze, his heart seeming to stop in his chest. “You’re- You’re joking, right? Don’t- Don’t f--- with me, Nick, or I swear to God-“
-
“I wish I was, but I’m not,” Nick said softly. “That’s why I’m just letting you know. They said something about after school tommorow, but I don’t know anything else.”
-
Connor didn’t speak, he couldn’t speak. He was too stunned, thinking nothing but about what might happen to Evan. His boyfriend. The love of his life. He looked around, searching for the brunette. “Where is he? I- I need to make sure he’s- he’s okay-“
-
Nick sighed, glancing around. Evan was just coming in, heading for the dugout. He was pretty excited, because it was the last day of his punishment. “He just showed up.”
-
Connor looked over, sighing with relief to see he was okay. “Wait- should I tell him? I mean, I’ve got to warn him about it, right??” He asked in a panic, looking over at Nick.
-
“I don’t know,” Nick said with a shrug. “I mean- you two don’t really talk anymore, right? I was only telling you because I didn’t really know who to tell and you knew him before.”
(i forgot nick doesn’t find out until like the whole drama senior year 😃) -
(xD tbh same-
eh, whatever lmfaooo)
“Riiight,” Connor spoke awkwardly, nodding. He almost forgot about the fact that everyone thought they weren’t friends, not to mention dating, “But- Still, what if- No, I- I have to tell him,” he said, walking over to Evan. He walked up to him and gently grabbed his wrist, pulling him into the empty dugout. -
Evan glared at the brunette, trying to true away. “Connor, what the f--- are you doing?” He whisper-hissed.
-
“Sorry, I- f---, I- I don’t know how to say this,” Connor spoke, panic in his voice. He let go of Evan’s wrist, trying to calm his panicked breathing.
-
Evan glanced around, making sure no was too close. “What’s going on?”
-
“Nick- He just t-told me, that- that Ryder and some-some other guys on t-the team were gonna j-jump you tomorrow,” Connor stuttered out, his hands shaking. “You- You need to stay a-as far away from them as p-possible, please, I-“
-
Evan frowned, crossing his arms. “f---- okay. When tommorow? Do you know?”
-
“No, I- I don’t know,” Connor spoke shakily, clutching the collar of his shirt in his hands. “f---, I’m so anxious, a-and I’m not even the one w-who’s gonna get jumped…”
-
“Yeah, hey, take a breath,” Evan said softly, patting Connor’s shoulder gently. “I’ll park somewhere else and go the long way.”
-
“But what if- what if they try ‘n track y-you down?” Connor asked, his breathing picking up speed and his hands trembling. He tugged at the collar of his shirt, feeling his legs grow weak and his vision growing blurry. He stumbled over to one of the benches, sitting down.
