(You're good!)
As Damien walked with Lila, he felt that vague heckling at his soul. There was something, or someone here that had the potential to cause great change. He looked at Lila, and ground his teeth together for a moment. He was about to make a decision that had the possibility of making Lila dislike him even more than she already did, but there was something about today that he couldn't shake. "Do me a favor. Cancel the show. I know we normally have the show, then read fortunes, but maybe we can just read fortunes tonight? There is something in the air." Damien didn't want to say more even though he felt like Lila knew already. And even if she didn't, someone further down the hierarchy did. Lila looked at him somewhat sternly. "How about we don't cancel the show, and you still read fortunes at the end." She said, her voice snippy. Damien just stared at her for a moment, and balled his hands into fists. He turned and made a bee-line for his dressing room once more.
Time Skip
By now, the show had finished, Damien was tired. He could feel his eyes weighing down, and for most of the show he couldn't feel the static electricity in the air like he did before. After the shows, Damien and Lila went into town and did a side gig of reading fortunes. Most people thought he was a fraud, but it was one of those things he didn't have control over. Most of the time he focuser on small thing. A kid winning a basket-ball game, or a dad winning free tickets to sports game. Something people could easily dismiss as statistical probability. As he sat at his table, in a sanctioned room specifically for his readings, he felt a surge of electricity move through the air. He sat straight up, and looked at the door, intrigued. -
(ahhh i'm so sorry but i have like, no idea how to introduce tristan to damien :'))
-
(It's okay! You could find out where the fortune telling was taking place, and pretend like Lila is guarding the door. Tristan could ask her for a reading, and she'll let you in!)
-
imsoclueless Senior(kk!)
Tristan walked up to the building and slipped in through the back door, quickly glancing around to make sure no one saw them. Now that they knew the line was for a fortune teller, their interest was piqued. They slunk through the hall and peeked around the corner, seeing the door with a sign with what they assumed was the name of the fortune teller, and a guard standing on watch. Dang it, how do I get in? Maybe... maybe I just ask?? They took a deep breath and walked over, waving at the guard. -
Lila looked at the person approaching her, and furrowed her brow. Hmmmmm This person peaked her interest. Something felt different about them. "Hi, my name is Lila. I presume you are here for the fortune reading?" She said, her voice seemingly to be a mix of curt sweetness.
-
"Yeah, I- I hope that's fine," Tristan replied, a gentle smile on their face. "To be honest, I wasn't sure if the guy was still doing it or not, so I- I can leave if not! It's not a problem~"
-
Lila didn't know how to read this person. They seemed different from the others, but it was a feeling that couldn't be placed. She nodded though, and opened a door. "Through here." She said, motioning them inside.
-----------
As Damien watched the door open, the air surrounding him felt electric. He knew there were other people that were held in high favor, but he wondered if the individual that was walking into this room knew that. He looked at them, and placed his hands on the table. He motioned to a chair sitting to the opposite of him. "Sit." He said warmly. "So, what would you like to know?" He said, getting curt and to the point. "Or, would you like a general reading?" -
imsoclueless SeniorTristan sat, looking around the room for a moment before staring back at the fortune teller. "Uh, I guess just a general one?" They replied with a shrug, "I didn't put too much thought into this, I'm afraid~" They chuckled, resting their hands on their lap.
-
"It's okay." Damien nodded, and placed his hands on the table. "Your palm?" He asked, with a hint of curiosity in his voice. He could feel his heart start to race in his chest. Was this going to be the start of a break-through for him? He took a deep breath, and waited.
-
imsoclueless SeniorTristan nodded and moved their hand into the fortune teller's, resting it on his palm.
-
Damien held their palm, and looked at it closely. "It seems you are a creative person. Someone who can be out-going and charismatic." He took a deep breath. This was the interesting part. He could feel his heart nearly exploding in his chest. It was now, or never. "It looks like you are more important that you think. You have a strong guardianship's presence about you. Someone who has the ability to make, or break someone's future. You are heavily protected, in more ways than one." Damien could feel the air around them grow warm, the static feeling he had felt was even stronger than before. He had to hurry before Lila grew suspicious. "You have a certain magic flowing through your veins." Damien looked at the person in front of him cryptically. He knew what they were probably thinking he was insane, but he had to take the shot.
He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, and handed it to the individual. "If you want to know more, meet me here at midnight." He shoved the paper into their palm. "Don't let the woman that let you in here see it. Don't even look at her as you leave." Damien felt a sense of urgency, but it was going to be a lot of information to unload in a short amount of time. He wasn't even sure if they were going to show up, but one could hope.
(Meeting place is going to be a small traveling trailer that was near the venue from the beginning! :3) -
(kk :))
Tristan stared at Damien for a moment with a confused look on their face, nodding shortly. They stood and looked down at the paper in their hand, closing their fingers around it. "See you then, I guess," they replied with a small smile, turning towards the door and opening it. They stepped out of the room and walked off, making sure not to look at the lady standing by the door as they turned down and left the venue. Midnight? Here?? God, what am I getting myself into..? -
Damien sat back I'm his chair, and let out a deep breath. This was going to change his whole trajectory, and hopefully sooner (rather than later). He would be free from all of this unnecessary bulls---. He stood up for a moment, and before he even could make it to the door Lila was there. "I hope you aren't trying this charade again." The woman in front of him gritted her teeth, and her eyes flashed a maroon red. Damien looked at her, his eyes not once leaving her face. "And if I am?" He walked up to her. "You know what my original agreement was. I never agreed to you being here, not to mention the fifty other hellions that watch every move I make, day and night. It's not worth it." He looked at her, and could tell she was growing more furious by the second. Lila stepped a little close to Damien, and quickly snatched his wrist. Her hand and arm mutating into something monster-esque.
Her arm was red, and her finger-tips turned black. Her nails were now hardened, and sharpened to a point. Her nails dug into Damiens skin, drawing blood. "Do I need to remind you about what happened to the last person that tried to help you?" Damien looked at Lila, gritting his teeth from the pain. "No." He spat. "But this one is stronger." He ripped his arm away from Lila and made his way outside the room, and eventually outside the building. Since Lila was onto him, he had to make his moves very carefully from here on out. -
