“I know, I know,” Nick said softly, faltering for a moment before taking Karl’s weight completely. “Let’s go to my house, then. Go to sleep. Let’s forget about them, okay? Just for tonight.”

imsoclueless SeniorKarl nodded, wiping his eyes as he stood. He exhaled and grabbed his board, tucking it under his arm. "You're too kind to me, hun," he said with a tired smile, looking over at Nick.

Nick smiled, gently pressing a kiss onto Karl’s lips. “You deserve it. Here, let me take that,” He said, gently taking the brunettes board and grabbing his boyfriends hand as they walked to Nicks car.

imsoclueless Senior"Thank you," Karl said with a smile as he followed Nick to his car. He let out a tired yawn, realizing his how tired he actually was. He paused his thoughts for a moment, a particular question popping into his head. "Babe?"

“What’s up?” Nick said, opening his car door for Karl.

imsoclueless Senior"When we graduate, and go off to college and stuff- Well, if we decide we want to go to college," Karl said as he sat in the car, grabbing his board from Nick and setting it in the floor at his feet, "would you wanna live with me? In a dorm or apartment or house, I don't care where. Just- I don't want to wake up to arguing or shouting anymore..."

Nick smiled softly before closing the door and walking around to the drivers seat and hopping in. “Yeah, I would love to.”

imsoclueless SeniorKarl beamed with joy, giggling. "That's- that's great! I've actually been saving up for forever, like, you don't even know how bad I've wanted to get out of this s--- show of a house."

“I believe you,” Nick said with a smile, turning the car on and pulling out of the parking lot. He reached over and grabbed Karl’s hand as he drove.

imsoclueless SeniorKarl smiled and took Nick's hand, gently squeezing it. "I'm not even kidding, though, as soon as I graduate? Getting an apartment," he said, giggling.

“Good,” Nick smiled, squeezing Karl’s hand back and focusing on the road. “And I’ll join you.”

imsoclueless SeniorKarl giggled happily, watching Nick for a moment with a loving gaze. He turned his head forward as he watched the road, zoning out for a moment and becoming lost in thought. "Do you really think it would be bad?" He asked in a quiet voice, glancing over at Nick. "Y'know, if we came out and told people we were dating??"

Nick shrugged and nodded. “Yeah. I think it’d be pretty bad. I think socially for me, but then your parents would be even more upset then everyone at the school, y’know?”

imsoclueless SeniorKarl awkwardly cleared his throat, turning away to hide his red face. "I uhm, I- I already came out to my parents," he spoke nervously, his voice shaky. "It- It wasn't some happy moment, I was just- so upset, so I figured, 'Hey, what's the best way to piss off my parents? Tell them I'm gay!'" He paused, squeezing his eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath. "So I yelled and said, 'Well, not only is your son a disappointment, but he's gay too!' and-" He covered his face with his free arm, leaning back in his seat, "and my dad slapped me, and my mom threatened to kick me out..."

Nick frowned, squeezing Karl’s hand tightly. “You dad- he f---ing slapped you?” He said, trying to stay calm because he was driving and he didn’t want to upset Karl more. They were already in his neighborhood so he just pulled off on the side of the road, parking the car before looking at Karl. “I’m so sorry that happened to you, honey,” He said, gently moving his arm away from his face and wiping his tears away with his thumb. “I’ll beat him up if you want me to. I bet I’m stronger than him.”
