Mahina pointed her staff at him.

Ernest stared at the staff for a bit, fidgeting slightly.

Mahina frowned, tapping her staff against the floor. ‘It didn’t do anything?’

Ernest shook his head. The staff lit up for a moment, but didn't do anything.

‘Seleeeeeene!’ Mahina called, inspecting her staff. ‘My staff won’t woooooooooork:’

Selene rolled her eyes. "I'll try and fix it." She said before handing her her wand. "Use this in the meantime."

Mahina took the wand. ‘How does this thing even work, anyway?’

"You'll figure it out." Selene chuckled. "It's not much different than the staff. Just lighter and smaller."

‘Ok. Thanks,’ Mahina said, waving the wand around. ‘Weird.’

Selene shrugged before walking off to check what was wrong with the staff.

Mahina, in the process of waving the wand about, set the table on fire. ‘Agh!’

"Mahina!" Ernest's eyes widened. Selene noticed, took the wand from Mahina, and waved it at the table.

The fire went out.
Mahina winced. ‘Sorry.’ -
Selene sighed. "Just... Don't do that again." She gave the wand back.

‘I’ll try,’ Mahina muttered.
