Mahina laughed. ‘Didn’t think so. C’mon, let’s raid the cupboard.’

“Alright.” Ernest got up, laughing.

Mahina grinned and walked to the door, then into the kitchen.

Ernie followed her.

Mahina opened the cupboard. ‘What do you like to eat?’

“Anything.” Ernest shrugged, leaning against the counter.

‘So pickles with raw onion it is?’

“Ew.” Ernie shook his head.

Mahina laughed. ‘Didn’t think so.’

Ernest rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I’m fine with anything that isn’t objectively disgusting.”

Mahina grinned and looked in the cupboard. ‘There’s cake. Or raw garlic. Your pick.’

“Cake.” Ernest chuckled.

‘Sounds good,’ Mahina chuckled, grabbing out the plate.

Ernie laughed. “Who would pick raw garlic?”
