Ernie smiled. "So does that mean you'll tell me?"

'Why I keep looking at you strangely? No,' Mahina responded.

Ernest sighed. "Why not?"

'Because you haven't told me why you seen so suspicious. So we're both even.'

"Fine, how about if you tell me why you keep looking at me like that, I'll tell you why I'm here."

'Why are you so curious, anyway?'

Ernie shrugged. "That's just who I am, I suppose."

'Right. Well, you're not going to find out,' Mahina said. The truth was, she'd never spoken to her human before. She saw them on the streets when she walked to the closest town, and she was sheerly fascinated by Ernest because of this.

Ernest sighed. "Fine, leave it to the imagination, I get it."

Mahina nodded and turned away, grabbing her broom. She started sweeping again.

Ernie watched Mahina in silence, taking in her beauty.

Mahina glanced back at Ernest. 'Now you're looking at me weirdly.' -

"Am I?" Ernest said, looking away, embarrassed. -
'Staring at me is pretty weird,' Mahina responded. She looked outside. The sun was setting. Selene must've left half an hour ago. 'I'm going to fix up some dinner.'

"Sorry." Ernie said, scratching the back of his neck, blushing slightly from embarrassment.
