Selene smiled. ‘What do you remember, Nina?’

Ernie looked at Mahina curiously.

Mahina paused for a moment. She shook her head and buried her face in Ernest’s shoulder.
‘Nothing good?’ Selene murmured. Mahina nodded. -
Ernest frowned slightly, wrapping his arms around her. "That's alright."

Mahina whimpered. ‘Can we take a break?’

Ernie frowned slightly nodding. "Sure."

Mahina leaned against him.

Ernest let her, holding her close.

Mahina shook slightly in his arms. ‘S-Selene?’

"Yeah?" Selene asked, looking worried.

‘Why did my parents leave me with you?’

Selene winced. "W-well uhm..."

Mahina watched her, still holding on to Ernest.

Ernie looked at Mahina and then Selene, frowning.

Selene sighed. ‘Nina, I don’t think we should get into that here.’
‘Why not?’
