‘Why?’ Chester said softly. He took the sheathed sword off his belt and leaned it against the wall, then laid down next to Jayden.

“Because you keep fighting my brother, and guessing from experience, that’s gotta take a toll on you.” Jayden murmured.

Chester sighed, and pulled him close. ‘I’ve endured worse than a petty brother, Jayden. I can handle him.’

Jayd snuggled into him. “Fair enough.” He mumbled.

Chester massaged his back, nodding. He didn’t say anything.

“I love you.” Jayden said quietly.

‘I love you too. More than anything.’

Jayd smiled, pulling himself closer to Chester. “Love you more.”

Chester held him close. ‘No you don’t.’

“Yes I do. Promise.”

Chester scoffed. ‘You don’t!’

“Yes I do!”

Chester rolled his eyes. ‘You don’t.’

“Yes I do. Sorry, but you’re wrong.”

Chester kissed Jayden’s nose. ‘No I’m not.’
